Looking for a director to direct a solo show. Although I live in California I can arrange to be here in Austin for all rehearsals, possibly a local performance. Director will be paid, of course. I should explain that I am new to Austin, and I am impressed and inspired by what I've seen. This is not a one man show where the actor comes out and talks directly to the audience. It's the story of a frustrated musician who cannot play an instrument, but he has written a dozen songs anyway. It's comic, but during the course of the show, we find out why the guy is edgy. Can't do justice to the description here, but if you are at all interested and want to hear more, my cell # is 415-420-0393. My California # is 415-436-9123. If you are not a director yourself and happen to know of someone, please pass on the info. You don't have to be a theater school graduate. Just be committed to the project. I've been acting for 25 years, in Chicago and San Francisco. I have performed solo before, but want fresh insight. I can send resume, if you want. Script is finished, but we can discard what is not needed and add as we go. I know it's a little nuts to advertise for this on Craig's List, but figure I have nothing to lose. Thanks---Greg (Please include phone number if you can.)

Hello – I am a fine art model although I do a lot of commercial and print work I am always interested in working with artists who use a paint or a pencil as their creative tool. I am making a brief trip to Austin in June the 25th to the 30th and would love to work with some artists while I am in town. I will happily fork over photos, and a brief bio along with experience. I’m from New York and have worked with over a 100 people in this area of creating. I’m 5’4 95 pounds, 31-22-31 – the reason I’m posting this so soon in advance is because I’m booking up pretty quickly and wanted to get some time in with some cool artists and make some new friends.

Fellow Seekers of Wisdom and Beauty,

A Canadian reviewer I’ve never met penned this post’s head quote, and it concerns my literary romance novel of ideas about synchronicity and reincarnation as well as the novel's companion 80-minute CD of world-music. His entire review is at
http://aural-innovations.com/2004/march/jlikide3.html

Another reviewer I’ve never met (the editor of Progression magazine, John Collinge) wrote the following in Issue 45, page 140:

"Out of the Labyrinth, the album, is a companion to Out of the Labyrinth, the book—a fascinatingly complementary dual release that really spirits you away when engaging both simultaneously.... It's [the music] rooted in vintage Tangerine Dream/Vangelis with varying hues touching on ethnic, world-beat, and progressive rock.... [The] disk stands alone as a pleasant, mind-expanding trip—great for contemplation or background listening, with shifting tempos and dynamics. (I really like John's echo-y, fuzzy guitar tone and hypnotic sequencing.... As for the book: ...it's an intriguing adventure yarn dealing with God, immortality, aliens, sex, life-extension technology and ... progressive rock! As Spock would say, 'Fascinating.'"

You can read the novel’s first chapter at
https://www2.xlibris.com/bookstore/book_excerpt.asp?bookid=16440

You can order a copy through brick-and-mortar bookstores as well as online ones. I guarantee you that it will be one of the best five books you will ever read.

Thanks,
JL

I am at a crossroads where I know I have always wanted to live off my work, but havent taken the steps to keep up with the art scene. So I am looking for other artists who meet and share ideas and just feed off each other that can also do things together like a group show or things to that nature. I'm a new arrival in town, seeking one or more very experienced and sensitive readers and writers with whom I can exchange drafts. I am far advanced on a book project--something on the border between fiction and memoir. My intentions are serious, but I have nothing against meeting pleasant people--in a group or as individuals. Live on Austin's south side.
I've had Austin on my mind for awhile. Heard great things about your fair city, considering relocating from St Petersburg, Fla. I'm a studio art jeweler/metalsmith, would like to connect with local artists to help me decide on perhaps where to live, cool places to hang, the art scene, etc & make some new friends before I move there. I plan on visiting Austin next month, would be nice if we could meet, show me a little of your city if you have the time & willingness.
Thanks for reading & look forward to hearing from you.
