<![CDATA[Looking for a director to direct a solo show. Although I live in California I can arrange to be here in Austin for all rehearsals, possibly a local performance. Director will be paid, of course. I should explain that I am new to Austin, and I am impressed and inspired by what I've seen. This is not a one man show where the actor comes out and talks directly to the audience. It's the story of a frustrated musician who cannot play an instrument, but he has written a dozen songs anyway. It's comic, but during the course of the show, we find out why the guy is edgy. If you are not a director yourself and happen to know of someone, please pass on the info. You don't have to be a theater school graduate. Just be committed to the project. <![CDATA[FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE DATE: May 15, 2008 CONTACT: Meghan Turner, Art in Public Places Coordinator; (512) 974-9314 TEXAS BIENNIAL APPLICATION FORMS NOW AVAILABLE AUSTIN, Texas — The City of Austin’s Art in Public Places (AIPP) program is partnering with the Texas Biennial to select several professional visual artists in Texas for commission of temporary public art projects in several parkland locations. The application forms are now available online, at www.texasbiennial.com. The website also includes an updated FAQ for interested artists and site maps of the available locations for public art. The deadline for submitting a proposal for temporary outdoor public art is May 31, 2008. The chosen works and the awarding of funds for the Art in Public Places temporary outdoor projects will be a shared review process between Risa Puleo, Assistant Curator of Contemporary Art at the Blanton Museum of Art and Art in Public Places Panel Vice-Chair, and Michael Duncan, Los Angeles-based independent arts curator and writer. The individual public art project budgets will range from $3,000 - $10,000, depending on the scope of the artwork proposed, with a total of $40,000 for the entire temporary outdoor component of the Texas Biennial. I am making a brief trip to Austin in June the 25th to the 30th and would love to work with some artists while I am in town. I will happily fork over photos, and a brief bio along with experience. <![CDATA[Hi, I have made xerox transfers in the past, but the location I made the copies at is now closed. I simply used a Xerox black and white copier and lacquer thinner and it worked great. (maybe the one I used was an older copier?)I currently cannot find a copier that the transfer will work with. I dont know if its the type of copier, toner.. We are looking for eager souls willing to work for experience, credit, and free lunches. HAIR STYLIST - Responsible for hairstyles from 1983 to present day, gradual greying of two main characters, and basic hair styling and continuity of five main characters within given time period. MAKEUP ARTIST - Responsible for basic film makeup for up to five main characters daily, and the gradual aging of two main characters through the use of prosthesis (bald cap, cancerous legions, etc.). Do not let your lack of experience shy you away. We embrace the need to learn and research these methods, and would welcome an honest, inexperienced, eager worker. PROP MASTER/MISTRESS, COSTUME MASTER/MISTRESS, PA's, and many other crew positions available. All materials used will be provided or reimbursed by Pantheon Productions. ]]>
