<![CDATA[I would appreciate any info on this Telecaster! It is a Fernandes, "made in Japan" Telecaster, and looks like a '52 Reissue, with a butterscotch body and black pickguard. It has a ZZ Top "Antenna" logo on the top, right front, (where your picking hand arm lays).. I was told by the guy that sold it to me, that it was one of five prototype guitars made for ZZ Top.. ("Antenna" was the name of an album they released in late '92, early '93).. The logo is not a sticker, it is under all coats of finish. Under the Fernandes logo on the front of the headstock, it says "music sound research group", and on the back of the headstock, there is a sticker that looks official, which has this serial number: 021491 If you can tell me anything about this guitar, I would greatly appreciate it! I would like to know if what the man told me is true, what kind of pickups it has, and basically, everything I can find out about it! I appreciate your help! ]]>

<![CDATA[We have the core of the group, bass, guitar, drums, keys but other instrumentation would be great. The band will be playing this sunday at Red 7 (second billing, show up early). You would not be needed for this but for the upcoming album. Bass Clarinet, Violin, Trombone, Sitar, Oud, Doumbek, Koto, Tabla, Harmonium etc. If you play a non-traditional-rock instrument, this would be a potentially interesting project to expand your musical horizons. What is Comprovisation? Comprovisation is a compound word for Improvised Composing. We don't play songs but instead concepts or very small musical ideas. Examples would be "Pushing in A Minorish" or "Climbing up Mt Everest and reaching the summit." It is 90% organic and 10% prepared. Each time we change lineup (say one keyboard player cannot make) the music alters significantly. There is a guy on here who calls it meandering nonsense that goes nowhere. Clearly, that kind of inside-the-box thinking would not be a fit for this. Overstructured serialism has it's place, just not in this group. Current Instrumentation (not every single time does every single person play): Guitar, Prepared, Looped, Slid and distorted. Sax Drums Percussion (x2) Keyboard (x2) Bass (x2, yes we play with 2 bass players and it works) What are some easy to find heavy influences? Late 60s Miles Davis (In a Silent Way, On the Corner, Get Up With It, Live Evil, Live at the Filmore East, Bitches Brew) John Coltrane's free period (Ascension), Anything by Medeski Martin and Wood. <![CDATA[Looking to start a band that sounds roughly like the following bands getting in a fistfight: Foals, The Fall of Troy, !!!, LCD Soundsystem, Maps and Atlases, Minus the Bear, Explosions in the Sky, At the Drive In, Don Caballero, and Tokyo Police Club. The rough end result would be music that is simultaneously dancy, technical, and honest. Who I am: A 19 year old drummer with lots of ideas, live experience, tiny jeans, pro gear, recording equipment, and most importantly, am not in school. I play guitar, bass, know my music theory, write lyrics, and sing as well. What I'm looking for in my future bandmates: People that want to create some great, meaningful music, put it on a CD, build a fanbase, gig, and tour, as soon as humanly possible, all while having a hell of a time. I'm not in school, so I don't have anything stopping me from touring, and I would need the same from you. So for age, I'm looking for people that are just about to graduate from highschool, that aren't planning on going to college, up to guys(or girls) in their early to mid twenties that could pick up and tour/play outside of Austin in a few months. Passion. You have to not only love music, but be IN love with music. That's the only way you'll survive being in a van with a group of guys playing a show every night for a month. That's what I want. I need: Two Guitarists: Be good. The music will be technically demanding. Being able to tap one and two handed is a huge plus. For examples of that, listen to Minus the Bear, Foals, Maps and Atlases, Hella, and Don Caballero. Tonewise, I personally lean towards Vintage type tones. Basically, don't show up with a Triple Rectifier and a Shecter with EMGs in them. Singing experience always a plus. One bassist: Just be able to make people dance. Tonewise, don't have farty or too modern tone. Once again, singing ability a plus. Maybe, One Keyboardist: Fat synths. That is all. One Singer: Be moderately attractive, a tenor, and have a decent sense of pitch and character. If you don't fall directly into what I've described, it's alright, passion is easily swappable for matching exactly. Basically, I'm looking for people that want to tour, get known, and get to the point where we can do this full time as soon as possible. AND HAVE FUN! ]]>

<![CDATA[It's been a year since the band that I spent three years putting together fell apart. It's time for me to get back to work. I want to join or form with the right ingredients for an all-original project. I'm very experienced, great equipment, serious pipes, knowledgeable about theory, good ear, and killer tunes. I have other music-related assets that we can discuss later. Most folks my age (58) have long ago fallen asleep or died and still want to play Deep Purple, Allman Brothers, and SRV (or sound just like them). Therefore, my inclination is to find some folks about half my age who are still excited about making music and want to challenge themselves. However, age, sex, race, etc., are not important; ability and dedication are essential. I'm a dry alcoholic, but I don't give a shit what you do as long as it doesn't get in my way. Extra consideration given for players who sing, multi-instrumentalists, unusual instruments, knowledge of music theory, and characters well left-of-center. What I want to create is an ensemble that will frighten people with its tightness and virtuosity. My intention is to rehearse at least two nights a week until we feel we are ready to take it out. Then I'd like to aim for a night a week for rehearsal and to perform four to eight nights a month. I do have a day job and must work around that. I've recently put together a band comprised of a drummer, bass player (electric stand up bass), and a guitar player to reinterpret my solo album to a live setting and then start working on original material made by the band. This is not typical hip hop. This is in the vein of artists such as Sage Francis, Atmosphere, Astronautalis, etc. We all listen to all types of music and want to make hip hop music that doesn't sound like hip hop music with all different musical styles incorporated.
