He is a friendly bird- responds to 'step up', will happily spend time riding on your arm, can be scratched on the head, etc. He has a pretty good vocabulary- all good words. He has been part of a family which includes small children. He loves singing along to music. He can be LOUD but no more than any other Macaw. Unfortunately, he needs more time and space than we can give him. (We live in a townhouse and have a new baby.) Plus, we recently discovered that a family member has significant allergies. We will also provide his very large cage. We are not in a great hurry and will wait for someone who can give him the best possible home. An adoption fee will apply.]]>

<![CDATA[ We found a cat on the streets while visiting family in NY and tried to find it's owner with zero luck. We are not "cat people" but we could not bear to give him to the shelter in NY as it is a high kill shelter. We took him home with us and had him vet checked; he is Healthy, we had him fixed, Micro-chiped, litter trained etc. The Vet states he is about 2 years old and is a Siamese mix. He is pure white with the brightest blue eyes you have seen! We have had him in our house for 4 months now training him with a water bottle and feel he is a healthy and well balanced cat that now needs his forever home. We named him "Artic" and he responds well to it. Artic does not get into anything. He is not mean, gets along with big and small dogs, other cats and children. He does have little spurts of energy, but I guess that is normal with cat's. He is very friendly, always purring and loves to cuddle and play with his toys. Artic is also VERY talkative. We borrowed the majority of his items he is using currently from a neighbor since we only planned on getting this little guy back on his feet and not keeping him. He will come with some toys, a large food storage container, a small cat crate and maybe a bit more I am forgetting. He came to the rescue with Tulip, Katie and Snowflake (all who are negative). He is the only postive kitty! It is transferred mainly through bite wounds, which is how he contracted it. HE is really a sweetheart and loves to talk and make cute sounds. He is only about 2 years old and just wants a window to sleep in and watch the birds, he would love to have a sun room and bird watch all day! He is very healthy, just because he is postive doesn't mean anything, he can live a very long healthy life without showing any signs. He would need to be the only kitty in the home or with other postive kitties. PLEASE consider him! Snowflake- SHe is a stunning 1.5-2 year old all white (with gray on her head and tail) girl with huge green eyes! She is a sweetie pie and LOVES to get on laps and be loved! <![CDATA[Animal Rescue (this location is strictly cats) is in major need of volunteers. Duties include: cleaning litter boxes, sweeping, moping, laundry, carrying in litter and food, feeding the cats, giving fresh water and of course giving lots and lots of love. We are a NO KILL shelter so we have some older babies that need extra TLC! Cleaning is usually done during the morning to early afternoon. Someone is usually there as early as 7am and there as late as 1pm. W/ the exception of Wednesdays. They clean in the evening. We made his birthday June 6th. He is gorgeous. White long hair with orange markings. The reason we need to rehome him is because he does not like kids. He ends up hiding all day until the kids go to sleep. Then he comes out and plays. We have another cat who he gets along with and a dog who he does not like at all! His name is Blueberry. Blueberry definitely needs to go to a home with no young children and no dogs. He has hissed and swated at my young children. I can't risk him ever hurting one of them. But more importantly, I can't imagine he is very happy here and I just can't have that. He is an absolute lap cat after the kids go to sleep. He is very loving, friendly, and affectionate with adults. Although it does take a while for him to warm up. He is a great kitten and will be missed greatly. He will only go to a good, safe home with no children under 10 or so. I want him to be happy and well loved. There will be a small rehoming fee of $75. He is up to date on all shots and is neutered. <![CDATA[Ebony is a 6 year old spayed female Great Dane. She stands 29 inches at the shoulder, has uncropped ears, is mostly black with spots of white on her toes, and grey on her muzzle. She is a chunky girl at 140 lbs or so. Ebony's favorite hobbies include wrestling, eating at the table, playing ball, devouring cardboard, escaping and exacting her furious revenge on inflatable toys and vacuum cleaners. She is good with children, and is generally pretty gentle. Ebony does have a prey drive, so rabbits, birds and other small creatures would not be a good fit. She chased cats when we had them, but if the cat didn't bolt, she was perfectly friendly. She sometimes can take a little bit to warm up to other dogs, especially other females. With two kids, going back to school, work, and the rising costs of everything now-a-days, the poor girl just isn't getting the attention she deserves. <![CDATA[I am in search of finding a facility or needy person to adopt a helpless "SMALL" dog. I have been through the mill with the SPCA. I understand their adoption policy, but I believe it would have been easier to take my entire family, criminal background screenings, banking statements and house, in order to see if I am approved to give a homeless dog a loving home. Unfortunately, I gave up with them in during the process of having to run around to find things I didnt understand was neccessary in adopting a dog. I have been looking for a "SMALL" dog, meaning something that will stay "SMALL". Doesnt have to be pure breed, just small (pug, puggle size small). I particularly was looking to adopt from a rescue or a shelter, or even a person in need. Problem with dealing through private parties was that the rehoming fees were more like pet store prices, or no connection was ever made between myself and the person. (not everyone on CL respond to emails) I can provide a great loving environment for a dog. I already have 2 cats, of which one of them I adopted from a rescue. Unfortunately, right now they do not have any small dogs there, compatible with children. I just would like a dog to add to our family. Reasonable rehoming fee is not a problem. If anyone knows of any shelters or rescues, or even a person needing to rehome their small dog, in the baltimore city area, or close surroundings, please let me know. Just for those whom may wonder, the reason I specify "SMALL", is because I have realized through fostering various dogs, that my kitties have only been compatible with the smaller dogs.
