My Dear Fellow Baltimore Area Citizens: Come One, Come All--

HELP US BUILD THIS VERY IMPORTANT WORLDWIDE MOVEMENT--
A MOVEMENT THAT CAN END POVERTY AND UNEMPLOYMENT WORLDWIDE,
MAKE EVERY SINGLE NATION AND TERRITORY IN THE WORLD PROSPEROUS,
PROTECT AND CLEAN UP THE ENVIRONMENT, SOLVE THE ENERGY CRISIS,
AND PROVIDE HEALTH CARE AND EDUCATION TO EVERYONE IN EVERY NATION

All kinds of skills, talents, knowledge, enthusiasm, as well as all types of media assistance are needed and welcomed, as is true of every Movement, large and small -- all inclusive of men and women, high school and college students, people of every age, race, religion, ethnicity, and national origin. If you like it, come join the action after you have read about my 28-year vision on my website. Right now it is just me and my wife, Bonnie Hurwitz, and two ladies who recently became associates. It is time to get the envisioned worldwide Movement started here in our Baltimore regional community. Why? So that it can begin to grow and then reach out to the rest of the world, with our Baltimore region at its center.

In addition to the media's playing a part, existing organizations, both non-profit and for-profit, who see an important and worthwhile subject here for all of humanity to talk about and consider, can also help this envisioned Movement get off the ground.

So that you get a little sense of it here, these are just two paragraphs from the introduction on my web site (which link is found below):

================================
The bottom-line to my vision is this: WE THE PEOPLE, WORLDWIDE, ARE MUCH MORE IMPORTANT THAN MONEY! Because of this, and from an all-encompassing moral, ethical, and spiritual point of view, the money system should be changed so that it absolutely makes the world work for humanity -- which the existing flawed system does not. Unfortunately, because of the way we now operate, the man-made dynamic is that, to say it in my particular way, MONEY EITHER MAKES THE WORLD GO AROUND SMOOTHLY -- OR NOT! Since this is the sad reality, and we are a very broken world from this point of view, I think this subject for the people of the world to dialogue on is one of the most important things to do together so that the entire system can be fixed.

I promise everyone that if you take the time to read every bit of this economic proposal, and about the worldwide forum that needs to be launched around the starting ideas, you will see that it may just be the most important overall subject which humanity needs to have a public dialogue about. This is because it deals with and solves most of the many thousands of major problems in the world that all the people and organizations who work on helping humanity are lovingly and loyally dealing with to help their fellow human beings, the planetary environment, the animals, and so on, and this would be another very important united place and activity for them to interact through, support, promote, and help lead.
=================================

So either call anytime you want to, day or night, 7-days-a-week, or e-mail if you are interested in getting together with us to talk about how you may want to play a part in helping to build the Movement -- in an informal, relaxed, and casual way at a mutually convenient public place for coffee or a bite to eat (our treat).

OK, this is my web site:
http://www.PublicAndPrivateEnterprise.org

And this is my name and home phone number:

John DeSantis
410-484-1987

P.S.: AN IMPORTANT TECHNICAL NOTE: Because of the nature of this important project, and the obvious time that it will take to find people who want to get involved, please know that I will be doing my best to both edit and/or add things as often as I happen to think of them (so reload or refresh this page each time you come to it in order to make sure you are seeing the most up-to-date version), as well as resubmitting the posting to the top of the Craigslist Volunteers page every few days. Please note that each time I resubmit it to the top of their page, I must also delete the last version (such as this one), and the new version that I post at the top automatically gets different numbers placed in the URL address. So no matter how and when you received it, say in an e-mail or an online forum, and you click on the link to it that says it was deleted, this means a new version, with new numbers in the URL address, was posted. All you have to do is this in order to get to the new version at all times:

Go to this Baltimore Craigslist main page and click on the "Volunteers" link found in the "Community" list near the top left side of the page (since I repost it every few days, it will always be somewhere near the top of the list when you get there): http://baltimore.craigslist.org

Hip, Contemporary, Classic. Whatever your taste, B-More Bags has something for you! Designed and hand crafted by House Of Ruth Maryland volunteers, each bag is unique, fun, stylish, and functional.

So, who are we and why are we making bags? We're the House Of Ruth Maryland, a Baltimore-based non-profit organization whose mission is to end domestic violence. Many of the women and children we serve each year come to the House Of Ruth with extremely limited assets -- no money, no home, and no support network. Sometimes women arrive at our door with a bag of their own, a black plastic garbage bag containing all of their worldly possessions! Yet, they are survivors, having made their way to a safe haven where they can begin the process of healing from domestic violence. From them we learn about the power of human transformation, about the amazing things people can accomplish even in the face of great challenge.

B-More Bags symbolize the care and nurturing that the House Of Ruth Maryland provides to the many victims and survivors of domestic violence who turn to us each year. They are produced entirely by volunteers. Our workshop has the same feel as sewing circles and quilting bees…..a place where people come together and share, creativity, friendship and the joy of community service, all in one small room.

We need volunteers to work with us!!! The B-More Bags workshop is located at the House Of Ruth's Administration Building in Northeast Baltimore (on the Morgan State University campus). Working in the shop is relaxing and productive, all at the same time! We accomplish a lot and still find time to chat, share, and support one another. Our main shop rule is: if you aren’t enjoying what you’re working on at any given moment, you don’t have to finish it….someone else will!

We primarily need volunteers who can sew using a sewing machine (pretty simple sewing involved) and hand sew to finish bags. Volunteers who want to sew bags at home can do this, after spending a bit of time in the workshop. We also have opportunities for people who want to support B-More Bags in more administrative roles, such as soliciting donations, helping at sales events, managing mailing lists, and keeping the workshop organized!

Workshop sessions are generally scheduled one evening a week, 5-8pm; occasional Saturday sessions are from roughly 11:30am-2:30pm. Come for the entire session, or for a portion of it, just please come!

All proceeds from the sale of B-More Bags support programs and services for battered women and their children. To get involved, call or e-mail Terri Wurmser (410-261-3027 or terri@hruthmd.org). For information about the House Of Ruth Maryland and how you can support victims of domestic violence, visit our web site at www.hruth.org.
