If this sounds interesting, hit me back and tell me a little about yourself, what you like gym-wise, and what days/times are good for you. Can be a one-time thing, or on a regular basis, depending on how it goes. Your enthusiasm is the most important thing for me, but hopefully, you won't mind if I enjoy the view when you're on the elliptical machine. Looking for something very casual -- no commitment. We can chat before we go, grab coffee, or whatever makes you feel comfortable.

I grew up playing Coleco and Munro games, and hope to purchase a vintage Munro version sometime soon. I am also willing to buy games as needed, as more players want to join in.

Also, I am interested in going to some tournaments, and it would be great to find someone as crazy as I am, to hit the road for a table hockey adventure. Also, this is not necessary. So...contact me if you have a love for this game as I do, and I am sure we will all have lots of fun. Thanks.
If you’d like to be informed directly about classes and workshops I offer in the Greater Boston area, please respond with your email address and I’ll include you on my email list. This list will ONLY be used to let you know about upcoming classes.

Because I’m not affiliated with any school of martial or Asian studies, I teach at different locations and at various times, in addition to a series of regularly scheduled ongoing classes in Arlington. From 1995-2000 he was an examiner for the NCCA national board exams. He is certified to teach Wu taiji and qigong by Daoist lineage holder Master B.K. Frantzis. Some of his other qigong teachers include 14th generation lineage holder of China’s E Mei tradition, Master Fu Weizhong; and Master Hong Liu, author of The Healing Art of Qigong. Steven is recognized by the States of California and Massachusetts as a continuing education provider for licensed acupuncturists.

Some comments from previous class and workshop participants:
"A terrific seminar! Very well paced and full of lots of useful, well presented material. He interspersed nicely the energetic explanations of the postures. Questions were answered plainly with practical analogies."
Anne Geraghty, L.Ac.

"Thank you! The course is great. I've reached the point where at least I know how little I know. I think the presentation was excellent, and I intend practicing regularly. Please put me on your email list."
Bridgit Holzer, L.Ac.

Steve is an excellent teacher, consistently patient, creative, and skillful. Steve uses a variety of approaches to explain the Taiji form, including demonstrations, (partner) exercises, and even metaphor. He is extremely knowledgable concerning the underpinnings of Taiji, its health benefits and its martial arts applications. He gives personal attention to each student and breaks down the complicated form into smaller elements that are easier to understand. Steve also has a pleasant, helpful manner that makes the class enjoyable. I would enthusiastically recommend his classes to anyone interested in the benefits of Taiji. Sincerely,
John Heymann

“I have been diabetic since age 3 and am insulin dependent. I have been your (tai chi) student for several weeks. (After more than 10 years of no sensation in my feet from diabetic neuropathy, since beginning my tai chi practice), sensation in my feet has increased, and for the last two weeks (the sensations) have increased strongly. I am positive that the tai chi system gives very good results for my diabetic condition.”

Alla Pourzyreva

“Very well organized and comprehensive. This was an excellent class, one of the best I’ve taken.”
Donald Currie L.Ac.

“It was good to have you as a teacher. Your teaching was so concise and detailed. Thank you much.”
Julian Wong

“In high school I injured my shoulder wrestling and playing football. It has been bothering me for twenty years, I tried everything I could think of to help it, streaching, going to various doctors including physical therapy, but after a few months it was only slightly better. I work in construction, so this was interfering with my work as well as with most other aspects of my life, and I still was not able to get better. I recently decided to get back in shape and began lifting weights and the pain came back worse then ever and I had to stop doing shoulder exercises. I read an article on Qigong and figured it was worth a try so I looked up Steve and signed up for private lessons. I explained my shoulder problems to him and he taught me some Chinese exercises, and after just two weeks of learning and practicing my shoulder felt almost back to normal. Now, I'm able to work, sleep, and live my life without shoulder pain, and I've even been able to resume lifting weights."
Dean Gilligan

“More than promised. Excellent knowledge of course subject from general to specific. Excellent class not only for info to clients, but for personal rejuvenation and increased energy.”
Cindy Lyon, L.Ac.

“The course has provided me with enough information to begin practice on my own. I plan to continue my study of qigong with Steven.”
Tracy Stewart L.Ac.

“Thank you (for) an awesome workshop. An amazing level of detailed instruction superbly communicated. This is the first time I’ve felt deeply motivated to take up a regular qigong practice.”
Ian Goldsmidt

“(The) material was very accessible for both beginning and more advanced students. Steven presents material with a very clear narrative background, methodical practical experience, and ongoing individualized guidance. (He) is and excellent instructor--quite gifted, yet humble in his presentation. Thank you for your skill and sensitivity.”
Pat Mayo

“Excellent workshop...excellent!”
Patricia Kelly-Kim

“He has studied under well-known masters and instructors, and his knowledge of the taught material was self-evident. I would very much recommend this course for anyone, and will whenever I have the chance!”
Masayuki Hamazaki, L.Ac.

“Thanks for your friendly and thorough approach to teaching!” Doug Maclaren

Presented by COMPASSIONATE ARTS HEALTH AND LONGEVITY SERVICES
I moved to Boston last May. I have been playing RPG's for over ten years now (having started with 2e revised). I have DM'ed plenty but I prefer playing a character. My style is much more focused on character development and story than on combat.

As for the games I have played; Star Wars d6, Star Wars d20 (not the newest version), D&D 2e, 3.5e and 4e, Aberrant, WoD, Shadow Run, Dread, D20 Modern. I prefer D&D 3.5e to 4e but I have run both in the past.

My hope is to find a group of gamers who are on the same page as far as story and character development. I have been in groups where there is one DM and we play the same characters in one campaign over a long period of time, taking the characters from level 1 to epic level, and I have played with groups where one person runs a campaign in their world for a few weeks and then someone else takes over for awhile and runs in their world for a few sessions and so on. Both approaches have their merit. If I were to DM I would hope for the latter because I want an opportunity to play as well. But it is also fun to make a character and watch him develop over time
