Hi,
I'm a 20-year-old female singer/writer looking for an open-minded musician to create some honest music with passion. I don't have much experience, but I have a lot of material written and am dedicated to working on creating more in conjunction with you. I'm a very laid-back person in general and open to creative ideas and to experimenting with different musical styles. My vocal style is pretty adaptable; I've sung classically in the past. I would like to get started as soon as possible and just see where things go from there.
Right now, I'm looking for someone that plays guitar or keyboard/piano, so we can begin to develop songs, and then maybe include additional musicians later if needed. I live in Boston during the school year, and still pretty close otherwise, so it would be convenient if you could be fairly close to that area too
please respond if interested--thank you!

I am the booking agent for Sammy's Patio, I've been booking there for 1 year, I've posted here before and bands which reply have always had a good time performing at our venue. I am posting again, for a promoter that booked April 2nd had to cancel the show last minute.

The bands that book with us will paid based on draw, headliners usually receive considerably more than bands in earlier time slots, of course this is based on draw as well.

Sammy's has an amazing sound system. We ask for a 5% donation to the sound man, which is completely optional.

pay is based as so: 6-25 (people) 60%, 26-49 70%, 50 or more 80%.. the cover is $10, so if you bring 6-20 people you'll be paid $36- $150; 26- 49 you'll be paid $-$180- $350; 50 or more $400 or more
in some cases 25 people will get you 70%, 49 people will get you 80%, etc... these are rough estimates. but obviously the more people bring, the more money you will earn.

I try to make sure every band walks away satisfied and I am always open to suggestions

please reply back for more information

Thanks

Dante G

Hi y'all - I'm Billy Jenks and I host an open Jam at JamSpot in Wakefield on Tuesday and Thursdays. I have started bands from this type of networking. Come on down and meet fellow players. There is NO COST associated the first time you come down so I feel free to post on this site. JamSpot is in my opininon, the BEST way for musicians to network, learn and expand their knowledge. I also usually teach a bit of theory as we jam if needed and all who come benifit from this awesome resource and musician networking tool. Just bring your axe, we have the rest. Top of the line, Margsall, Mesa, Ampeg, JBL. Shure, Fender, Fishman, etc. We usually rehearse a song 3 or 4 times and then record it direct to CD. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Don't be shy. Your only the newby on the block until the next guy walks in a half hour later and then, sorry, but your old hat. We welcome adult musicians (I host a teen jams on Sundays) 18+ for any musical instrument or talent a-la voclas, guitar, bass, sax, harp, etc, etc, etc, Check it out for yourself at JamSpot.com. Like I say, it's free to try with NO obligation whatsoever. Note - Anyone who flags these ad's are doing a great injustice to the music community as a whole.

Peace and I hope to hear ya soon

Yeah so I played bass and lead guitar for pretty much my whole life. Took private lessons and really knew my stuff. I cut the crap out of my finger last year and had surgery = no more guitar. I have been playing drums for the past couple months though on my roommates kit (which is no longer available). I picked it up fuckin' fast. I would like to find a cool punk or hardcore band to play with. I like playing fast. Most are surprised when I tell them I have only been playing for 2 months. I'm 28 years old... don't have much time left hah. I don't drink anymore but smoke a lot of grass. If you got a drum set at your place I'll play'em in your band or at least jam.

some influences: original dkm lineup, misfits, ceremony, rancid, tiger army, dead boys, the clash, joy division etc.

Hello, I am a guitarist/ singer/ songwriter playing in a band with a drummer and bassist. The three of us have been playing together 1-2x weekly for over a year and have a very solid kernel to build on. Our music is along the lines of Folk-Rock with elements of Reggae, Funk and Jazz. We have a repertoire of about 15 originals and 15-20 cover songs that we practice and perform on a regular basis. Our first year together has been very productive with the release of a professionally produced EP, plus 17 gigs under our belt since last February and another 10 already lined up for this year. Here's a link to our MySpace page: http://www.myspace.com/bigtreesband

We are looking for someone who can commit to rehearsing with us 1-2x weekly in addition to regular gigging. Most of our rehearsals take place in either Beverly or Marblehead, so someone on the North Shore would be most convenient. These are some of the qualities we are looking for in our 4th band member:

-Ability to comp, lead and improvise on your instrument(s)
-Ability to sing harmony lines while playing
-Commitment to growing as a band/ collaborative writing
-Willingness to contribute to band promotion (fliers, social networking, etc.)
-Passion for making great music together as a band

Please send me an email if you are interested in being involved. Tell us about what talents you would bring to the band, your availability, your goals, etc. Thank you.
