I rather see them go off in pairs so that they can keep each other company. Will provide a cage for each pair their bowl and bottle along with some food. Serious inquiries only please there is a re-homing fee of 50.00 per pair. I just got them about 2 months ago and paid a little over 150.00 for each pair and cage etc. ( 35 each pig 60 cage and about 20+ for food bowls bottles hay etc) So this is a bargain! She warms up well; despite poor socialization as a baby, she wants people's love and attention. She is very attentive to those she knows and desperately wants to please the person she is with, which is a wonderful trait because this will enable her to train quickly. Her playful ways combined with being sweet and loyal will make her a wonderful companion. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, and will receive a health certificate prior to adoption. ARLB Taking ASPCA $100K Lifesaving Challenge The Animal Rescue League of Boston is one of 46 public and private animal shelters (and the only one in New England) taking the ASPCA $100K Challenge which is offering more than $125,000 in prizes to save more lives. To qualify for the $100,000 grand prize competition, shelters need to save a minimum of 300 more cats, dogs, kittens and puppies from August through October 2010, compared with the same three-month period in 2009. According to Boston Shelter Manager Marianne Gasbarro, who is coordinating the League’s Challenge activity, the threshold number for the League is 1,220. “In August through October of 2009 our Boston, Dedham and Brewster shelters saved 920 lives, so to qualify we’ll need to hit 1,220 in that same period this year, which we’re confident we can do. Beyond that the real challenge is in saving the most of any of the 46 shelters who are participating.” Also as part of the competition, the ASPCA will give a $25,000 Community Engagement Award to the shelter that, in addition to meeting the minimum 300 additional lives saved requirement, most inspires and engages its community to get involved in promoting pet adoptions and reuniting lost animals with their human families. (The same shelter can win both prizes.) The ASPCA Grants Committee will review entries from the three finalists – chosen by online voting by the public - to determine which did the most to engage their community in saving more lives, taking into account: numbers of people engaged; breadth of ways the community participated; level of community enthusiasm for saving homeless animals as evidenced by photos, stories, links, news coverage, and videos posted on the Saving Lives Community. As well, additional Research and Development grants will be awarded for the purpose of studying and further developing one or more promising programs or practices that emerge during the Challenge. They may also be awarded to agencies that have shown great potential for helping the field to advance best practices. “Lives saved” includes adoptions, Return-to-Owner and Trap-Neuter-Return animals. <![CDATA[We are a family looking for a 2nd dog to add even more fun to the world of "Summer", our 2 year old rescued hound/lab mix companion and hole digger extrodinaire! We have a trainer come to our home to train Summer in manners with other dogs (and I must say, she did quite well!) and the trainer recommended a companion for Summer as she was rescued from a pack of feral dogs many moons ago - I sat on this suggestion for about a month - but when I see Summer play in the back field with dogs who are just walking by, I see the JOY she feels at having a playmate - and I am ready to take the plunge! We have a doggie door, fenced in yard, fields in the back, pond a short walk through the woods away and a very loving mom and son ready to add another family member to the mix. If you are looking for a home for your mid size, confident but not aggressive dog, maybe we are the right ones for you - gender does not matter, but temperment does - we have A LOT of young kids near by (elementary school beside our house) and I need a dog I can trust around children. I walk Summer twice a day - I am a teacher, my son is in high school - we are committed to raising happy pets!]]>

Although not yet neutered (Merwin Animal Clinic is a good cheap place to go), he has had all of his booster shots and his rabies vaccine (I have all of his paperwork). He loves attention, so it would probably be best if you have another cat or a lot of time to play with him. Manuco is a great cat for college kids, as he is not high-maintenance at all. She loves our cat and the two play together but she does not love our new puppy. My low-level allergies are starting to get the best of me. I've always thought she would enjoy a bunny companion if you have a bunny already. She has been well cared for with a range of greens twice a day, hay, pellets and time to run around the house. <![CDATA[Hello, I have been forced to give in to the torment of CL to help this amazing dog a new home. I am currently "fostering" him and need to find him a home ASAP. The woman I am fostering him for is adamant on sending him to the pound tomorrow. I cannot let this happen to this great dog. A little about him: He is 11yrs old, a yellow lab, great with kids (preference will be given to families with kids, he thrives off their attention (: ), submissive to other dogs and wonderful around cats and kittens. He has done therapy work at a senior home, knows a few commands, and is trained to alert you when he has to go outside. He is an amazing dog, I wish I had a larger place to accommodate him, but currently he sits in my kitchen and takes over. He is the perfect dog, he really is. So he's a senior, so what? The second you meet him you will want to run off with him. He has his good days and his bad days, as his age has taken a bit of a toll on his joints, but when he is having a good day, you would think he was a little pup! At this point even in the financial crisis I am going through, I will skip a meal to help pay for his feeding costs. I really hope someone has the room in their heart and their home for this amazing dog! :) Thank you]]>

After consultation with local emergency services agencies, including the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) and the Cape Cod Disaster Animal Response Team (DART), the decision was made to relocate the animals rather than continue to house them in the possible pathway of the hurricane. MSPCA staff members will begin transporting the animals later tonight to the organization’s adoption centers in Boston and Methuen. The MSPCA-Angell on Nantucket will provide emergency shelter for animals in need during Hurricane Earl. Emergency pet care tips; non-profit prepares to shelter pets on Nantucket and on the mainland as the storm approaches The MSPCA-Angell is alerting all pet owners in the path of Hurricane Earl to consider their companion animals when making emergency plans (Click here for a list of emergency pet care tips). The non-profit is making preparations at its Nantucket based veterinary hospital and adoption center to care for animals in need of shelter that are not allowed at human shelter stations.
