Two male cats looking for one caring home

Hi, we are 5 1/2 year old brothers (aka. “The Boys”) and we need to find a new home. Our current owner is getting married and his fiancé is allergic to us.

Norm (brown tiger) is a big boy, approximately 20lbs and Jackson (all black) is 13lbs. Both of these guys are pretty shy but warm up quickly and are very affectionate when they get to know you.

Since they are brothers (same litter) and have never been apart for each other I have no intentions of separating them now so they must stay together.

I have all of their paper work since they were born. They are both neutered and all of their shots are up to date. They are in perfect health.

If you are interested or know someone who may be interested please call Chris at

Some of them think they'd like to work with dogs. Some of them have the money to start a dog day care. Unfortunately, this is a business that is not "turn-key". To do day care, training, boarding or grooming the right way, the business owner should have formal animal science education combined with lots of experience and, perhaps, an apprenticeship. A fancy website, and a few video cameras will not save your dog if the proprietor doesn't know how to tell normal play behavior from aggression, nor will it help if the person doesn't have a clue about common doggy ailments, stress signals in dogs, etc. Lots of people think their dogs come home tired from day care because they played all day - when, in reality, sometimes the dog is just stressed all day. Sometimes, a non-knowledgeable day care operator will break dogs up that really were having fun because he/she doesn't know which breeds are "loud" when they play, or will place dogs with incompatible play styles in the same area, when they would have had fun with a different, but more compatible group of dogs. Before you shorten your dog's life from stress because someone didn't know the difference between good clean fun, and terror, ask questions!!!! Where did the proprietor get their DOG education. Is the person well known by local trainers, vets, groomers? Don't just trust testimonials - many pet owners have no idea about dogs' play behavior either.

She was very skittish and the first day I got her, she attacked me. I almost sent her back but something made me decide to keep her. I didn't want to send her back to a bad situation. I tried to figure out what to do so I began to sing to her. Our song is "You Are My Sunshine" I don't sing it to any other cat. It's Molly's and my song. It took a year and a half for her to trust me. But now she sleeps in my arms and gives me kisses. It's actually gratifying. She also waits for me to come in the door when I go out and when I am getting ready for bed, she sits by the door waiting for me. Molly is almost 13 and I got her when she was eleven. If you are unable to find a place for Skyla, please think of me. I do have other cats but I would like to help Skyla if I can. My goal with Molly was to give her some happy years before she goes. Honestly, she has touched me in a way no other cat has. | I have a 55 gallon tank that I would like to sell. I am asking 200.00 obo. It is worth well over 600.00.
1. What methods do you use? (Lure/reward, clicker, correction, electronic collar, etc.)
2. How will you correct my dog? (Absence of a reward, verbal, leash correction, or shock/"stim")
3. Where did you get your dog training education? (College, career school, apprenticeship)
4. How long have you been training, and what breeds are you most experienced with?
5. Do you have references? (vet, other trainers, clients, etc.)
6. May I audit a class? (Trainer should explain, demonstrate, and give individual attention to anyone in need, and should not be harsh, or correct students in an embarrassing way, or by yelling at either dogs or humans.)
7. Lists where you can find professional trainers:
www.clickerteachers.net
www.trulydogfriendly.com
www.peaceablepaws.com
www.apdt.com
www.nadoi.com

All the above training methods work if you apply them correctly. Do not believe anyone who tells you that one works better than the other. The real consideration is whether you would like to train your dog with punishment or with reinforcement, or a combination. If someone tells you that positive training makes your dog "cookie dependent" they are wrong. If someone tells you that an electronic collar just provides a "stim", they may be right (trainers of deaf dogs often use collars that merely vibrate), but you may want to try the level of stimulation on yourself before you apply it to your dog, so that you really understand what the dog is feeling. Always keep in mind that dogs are not born knowing what "no" or "come" means. They're great at reading body language, but English is a second language to them, so always err on the side of it being the human's fault if the dog is not responding the way you want.
Good luck, and have a great dog! | I take in a limited amount of small dogs under 30 lbs. Each pet will get individual attention and hugs are unlimited.

I have a eclectus and a baby doesn't sell for more than 500.00 just tell the truth this person is selling, 400.00 for a 14 year old bird is way to much. Show me prof they live more than 60 years, I don't think you'll find that anywhere. I personally have been into birds for close to 30 years now, and I feel that a $400- re-homing fee is terrific and I saw the photos of her cage which was also fine The people here on CL are looking for a handout, or for the fee that would be charged at a local shelter (but look on pet finders - U2's and Eclectus go for around $500- there in shelters). And the damn idiot who claims 14 years old is too old is psychotic!! Personally I would rather have an older bird many times because this bird has passed puberty so any personallity chages that occur during that period have already happened, so you get a real idea of what the bird is going to be like behaviorally!! Plus you have a 14 year old bird who is healthy - great - who does not pluck double - hell triple great, you probably are really aware of the sex of the bird by then as you have seen their masturbation patterns during the hormone years!! And they can and do live very, very long - and if this idiot thinks they don't it is because the bird was not cared for properly with regular physicals and adjustments to diet and exercise, etc due to age!! This is just my opinion and I am by no means a professional or expert- but I do know a great deal about birds!! Post for free in Uncle Henry's also!! And Birds n'Ways - but watch out for scammers then | My parents have decided to move to Florida and leave behind their two lifelong kitty companions. I'm disappointed in them because these cats have been nothing but perfect their whole lives, but now my parents feel that the cats will be too much of a burden on their retirement. Sigh. So, I am trying to find new lifelong homes for these awesome cats.

Anyway... here's the stats on the cats! :)

Ling:
Gorgeous 6yo purebred blue point Balinese. Lovable lap warmer type, very friendly to everyone and will follow you from room to room. Indoor only, never any health issues, very clean in her litter box. Spayed and up to date on rabies and distemper vaccinations. She is just the sweetest cat, the pics do not do her justice, come visit with her and you'll fall in love!

Oreo:
Striking 7yo tuxedo with white double paws, up to date on rabies and distemper vaccinations. Oreo's case makes me really sad because she is less adoptable due to being semi-feral and not super friendly. If you try to touch her and she's not in the mood, she will hiss and bite though sometimes she enjoys climbing up on your lap and just relaxing. She would do best in an indoor/outdoor situation where she can hunt for mice and have a job. I think she would be an ideal barn cat though she can live in the house too since she's 100% litter trained and not destructive. Won't someone take a chance on her?

These cats are both free to a suitable home, though I would ask that you provide a $25/per cat donation to the MSPCA. They can go separately or together. | Looking for something fun and different to do with your puppy? How about having a doggie party? Also have frontline for cats 2 of the boxes are spot on. Total 7 boxes in all.

and each box has 3 applications in them. Will take $175.00 for all boxes which is a HUGE steal for this. I just need some cash for college right now BADLY.

Here at PAWS, we often take in dogs who have been mistreated, or come from circumstances that no dog should have to be a part of. Miss Ellie may be the saddest case that we've seen yet.

The local newspaper delivery man was doing his deliveries and accidentally hit Ellie. He knew who she belonged to, so he went to the home and told the woman who answered the door that her dog had been hit, and where to find her. The woman said "Oh well, I'll tell my husband when he gets home".

Ellie's story should end here. but sadly, it does not.

Her family should have picked her up, brought her to the vets office and gotten her the care that she needed. That's not what happened. For FOUR days, Ellie lay in the shallow ditch that she had ended up in - in pain, with no food, no water, (In Tennessee heat) and countless people driving by her, seeing her, and doing nothing. Her family, although they knew where she was, did nothing. Even the delivery driver, who eventually called animal control to come get her, waited for 4 days, driving by her every day.

When Ellie was picked up by animal control, due to the extent of her hip injuries, combined with the fact that she tested positive for heartworm, her family did not want her back - so the shelter that she had been brought to decided to euthanize her.

A vet that works with PAWS happened to be there that day and had Ellie's leg in 1 hand and the needle in the other, ready to end her life. The whole time, Ellie licked the vet's hand and licked his arms. The vet broke down in tears, and simply could not do it. He decided that after all that she had endured, she deserved a chance to live, and a chance at a wonderful life.

We agree with him and know that her new family will too. Our hope is that after reading Ellie's story, you will want this special creature to be in your home to learn what true love is. She deserves nothing less than a life of luxury from here on out.

If you cannot adopt at this point, but would like to help Ellie, please consider donating to her medical expenses - they are going to be astronomical, but we will not give up on this girl, who clearly has a fighting spirit and the will to live.

As we learn more basics about Ellie (age, weight, etc) we will update her bio with further details. We know this much though, that everyone who meets Ellie is touched by her - she just wants to be loved, and kisses everyone who meets her!! Please help us give this girl the happy ending she so deserves. See the bottom of the page for more pics of Ellie!

Hi everyone. I'm posting this information because I was sick of pet hair being everywhere in my home. I found a site that has a great solution for the pet hair problem. It helped me out, my furniture was always covered in dog hair and now it's less of a problem. I bought a pet vac grooming kit at....{ w w w . i s a y p e t s . c o m } It really keeps the pet hair in my house at a controllable level. Just thought I'd share this with the CL community. I hope this information is helpful.

FOSTER UPDATE: He is a VERY happy dog. Much better adjusted than I would expect for a rescue dog. He is potty trained for the most part. He does not have any training with commands that we can see, and I think that will be difficult since he isn’t at all food inspired. He is however affection inspired. Everyone he meets is his new best friend and he just wants to snuggle and lick them to death. We had him out in the community garden all day yesterday as we were all getting it ready for planting (he was tied up of course) and everyone agreed he is a great dog and will make a great pet for the person who either has a fenced in yard or will use a leash and walk him.

We think Gordie is about 4 years of age; he's not a gigantic boy and is a lab mix of some type, maybe with terrier.

Gordie was found traveling with his buddy Gunther (who has since been adopted), roaming the streets, and were both picked up by a good samaratin and taken to her vet for heartworm tests, check-ups, and boarding. Gordie is up to date on his shots and neutered. Gordie also has a small knot on his belly that the vet says is a herniated umbilical cord from when he was a baby -- nothing that needs to be treated. His heartworm test is negative.

Gordie is very playful, good with other dogs, great with children, no food aggression or other aggression shown -- very very sweet and good-tempered.

We offer pet-sitting, dog-walking, boarding, daycare, grooming, training, and more. Daycare and boarding are offered in private home facilities, never kennels. Our staff is fully insured, certified, CORI-checked, and supervised.

My situation is that I have thirteen dogs of my own. All but one of these dogs are rescues, and three were clients' pets who were given up. I have a large, newly-built home on the south shore, less than five minutes off of I-495 and about ten minutes to Rtes 3 or 24 (am about 35-40 min south of Boston.) I do have a dedicated floor of my home for daycare, boarding, and a full grooming salon, as well as a fenced yard. I also run a nonprofit animal rescue and therapy organization, and several of my dogs participate in pet therapy visits at facilities in Boston.

What I am looking for is someone who would like some free services for their pet (it could be some boarding, daycare, grooming, training, or even pet-sitting/dog-walking in certain areas, as I'd have to cover the visits myself) in exchange for helping me out with my crew.
Ideally, I'd like help every weekend, and would provide a free service once weekly in exchange... but am definitely willing to be flexible. For example, if you'd like a free grooming for your pet once per month, it would be great if you could help me one day per month with simple grooming tasks for my gang, or help bagging dog food, if you don't prefer to have animal interaction. I prepare and individually ziplock bag my dogs' food for the month, to make daily feedings quick and easy, so as simple as it may sound, in bulk, help filling and closing bags is much-appreciated! Or, if you would like one free daycare day per week for your dog, if you could come one day for an hour or two to help with grooming or some training/skills reinforcement, that would be great as well.

No experience is necessary for this arrangement, as I'd be here all the time, and the tasks are very simple...it's just a case of four hands being better than two! All of my dogs are entirely non-aggressive, friendly, loving, and very cute! Everyone who meets them loves them, and I take them everywhere with me (though generally not at once!)
I will require at least two professional (non-family, non-friend) references, and a background check (I will cover cost), and I will provide my own references and business information as well, of course. Your pet also must meet basic medical/safety screening requirements and vaccinations, etc. which I will go over in advance. My only requirements for the person him/herself is that he or she be over 18, love animals, and have a good sense of humor, as working with my group is very entertaining!

Serious responses only please!

| Lexi is a beautiful spayed female German Shepherd. We are putting her up for adoption because we can not offer the individual attention and time that she needs. She has a wonderful temperament and simply wants to be near her human companion all the time. She does well alone and is not an incessant barker, but she does bark for example at passers by, other dogs, and for attention if you are working on one side of a fence when she is on the other. If she is in the yard and you are in the house, she will not bark for you… only if you are outside on the other side of a fence. She just wants to be with you. She is wonderful with children. We have twin boys and she love to give them kisses and she has never showed aggression toward people. She is not good with small animals such as cats and small dogs and therefore must remain on a leash during walking and she still needs some leash training and socializing. She is a fast learner but needs consistency, and that is where we have failed her. We are sadly giving her up and hope to find her a good home because she is such a sweet dog. If you work out of a home office she is perfect for you as are you for her. She is very sweet and just needs some one to love her. If interested please reply. There are no adoption fees; we just want to find her a good home. Lexi is also house trained and has grown up with another German Shepherd and gets alongs well with large dogs. She is 5 years old. The family was very dysfunctional and she was being mistreated by the children in the home.
Skyla was in foster care for a short while and was very upset and scared in an unfamiliar environment.
The foster mother could not get near her cage for days and did not have to the time to work with her
so she was brought to the pound just as Skyla was starting to come around in her foster home.
So Skyla again went beserk over another move into a strange place (now with many other cats and loud barking dogs!)
and we could not open her cage for a couple of days.
Skyla has been doing well now at the pound and all the volunteers have been working with her. She is very sweet but still
always cautious of her surroundings, always watching your hands. She can be pet, held on occasion and she LOVES to play like crazy.
If you talk sweetly to her she will roll over on her back in a very submissive pose.
We are looking for an EXPERIENCED cat person only in a quiet home without children. By experienced I mean someone who has worked with cats having trust/social issues and have been successful.
There will be NO fee for the right home. Skyla was recently spayed and vaccinated, payed for by a local volunteer
group in the hopes that someone will save her. We feel she has a lot of potential with right person and can learn to trust.
The social worker said that Skyla is about 8 years old. I was surprised by that because is as small as a 6 month old kitten and
plays like a kitten too, so that age may be inaccurate.
This is a municple pound in RI, not a private shelter, located about 30 minutes from Seekonk, Attleboro. 1 hour from Boston.
If you can save Sklya please send me an email with your cat experience and provide the answers to the questions below. Kitten season is here and Skyla will soon be considered unadopatable.

Turtle was left abandoned in a cardboard box on the side of the road during a rainstorm, fortunately a passerby found her and brought her to the shelter.
She is very sweet, loves people and playing. She would love to be an only pet but if you know how to introduce animals properly it would most likely work out. And if it didn’t we would always take her back. Turtle is estimated to be about 3 years old or so.
She has been spayed, vaccinated & tested neg for FIV/FELV.
This is a municple pound in RI, not a private shelter, located about 30 minutes from Seekonk, Attleboro. 1 hour from Boston.
The town charges a $15 fee per cat adoption. This helps to cover overhead, food, litter ect. Most of Turtle’s medical care ( ie, her spaying) was paid for out of donation & fundraiser money. A small donation of your choice is GREATLY appreciated so we can continue to be able to provide medical care to all the shelter animals. Without donations we cannot do this. Again, just asking a small donation of your choice, not asking a set amount, anything you can give above the $15 required town fee is much appreciated. Adopting Turtle frees up another cage to save another life !

These are my grandkids and are protected by a special blessing that will visit an unpleasant fate on anyone who intentionally does them ill.

Will come with whatever supplies we have, including cage and enclosure for him to run around in. Not looking for money, just a good home. Please reply only if you are local to the North Shore area. I have had several replies that have fallen through because people have decided that they do not want to drive far to pick up the rabbit. I have turned others away thinking that we had a commitment, so please only reply if you are serious.

I am looking for a well manored large family dog...

The age is not as important as knowing for sure that the dog loves children.

We have a house and a wonderful yard...
We go on family vacations to Maine and New Hampshire quite often...
to which our new member of our family would come with us EVERY time and EVERY where!!!
So, I guess the dog would also need to be car friendly! lol

Anyways, unfortunatly, due to insurance on my home, I am unable to take in a "high risk" dog, though those dogs are, BY FAR, my favorite...
stupid laws!

Please contact me for more information.
I work from home and I'm always around.

If you have a dog that you would love to rehome into a permenant, loving family, please let me know.

I have been a pet sitter professionally since 1999 and would be happy to care for your pet family while you are away.
Some of who I have had extensive experience sitting for or currently care for are - cats, dogs, rabbits, gerbils, rats, tropical fish, guinea pigs, birds and hermit crabs. Have had some experience caring for other types of animals as well. I would be happy to give your pet family loving attention while you are away, ensuring that they are happy and safe in your home where they are most comfortable.
In addition to petting, walking, playing, brushing, cuddling, feeding, giving medications, clean-up, special care instructions, I will water plants, take in mail/paper and perform necessary tasks to help keep your home secure. I am available by phone and email while you are away if you would like to check in and see how your "kids" are doing. Also, I will leave a "journal page" of our activities for you upon your return.

You may contact me at petsittingbytiffany@yahoo.com to set up a complimentary visit where you and your pets can meet me ahead of time. Available mornings, evenings, weekends and most holidays to care for your pet family. Visits are 30-60mins and rates are very reasonable.
