Transmission Meditation is a group service activity which 'steps down' the great spiritual energies that continually stream into our planet. This transmission process, which makes the energies more useful to humanity, is similar to that of electrical transformers, which step down the power between generators and ordinary household outlets. These transformed spiritual energies are gradually lifting all life forms, changing our world for the better.

During Transmission Meditation, humanity's 'elder brothers', known in the East as the Masters of Wisdom, direct energies from the highest spiritual planes through the energy centers (chakras) of the group members. This creates a 'pool' of energy that is more accessible and useful to humanity and the other kingdoms in nature. Then, based on their greater understanding of our world, the Masters re-direct this stepped-down energy to wherever it is most needed at that moment in time.

Transmission Meditation is safe, scientific, non-denominational, and unbelievably potent. There is never any fee to participate. It will not interfere with any other religious or spiritual practice. In fact, it will enhance your personal meditation and any other service activities in which you may be engaged.

It requires no classes or special training and is so simple that children 12 years of age and older can participate.

Read all about it:
http://www.transmissionmeditation.org

The study lasts four to six weeks and tests the usefulness of taking placebos for improving depression symptoms.

In some clinical trials, placebos (pills with no active ingredients) improve symptoms of depression as well as genuine antidepressant medication. This may be because of mind-body conditioning, positive expectations, and a supportive physician-patient relationship. In this study, we are testing whether symptoms of depression will improve when people know they are taking a pill with no active ingredients. One advantage to taking placebo pills, if they help improve depression, is that there may be fewer side effects than when taking antidepressant medications.

Participants will be compensated $20 per visit and also receive three months of free follow-up care after the study ends, which can include antidepressant medication.

For more information, please contact Sam at 617-726-0517 or via e-mail.

The Youth House School is a small education center for disadvantaged street children and children coming from a poor fishing village, located in the outskirts of Hanoi. The international volunteers will help run the school and will be responsible for keeping the school clean, cooking free lunch for the children, and teaching them basic things about their countries, health, etc. The volunteers will also organize some leisure activities for youth after school. This is a time for cultural exchange and embracing new relationships. The international volunteers will work together with a team of local volunteers, led by a group leader. The volunteers will teach around 15 children every day. Remember, the children are not used to rules and structure in their households, so volunteers must try to implement this by setting an example. The Youth House is also a place where young local people and international volunteers come to explore the cultural diversity, by teaching the children together or organizing leisure activities, such as taking the children to the swimming pool.
These activities are combined with projects to help disadvantaged people at the Fisher Village, who are very poor and live in slum-boats on the Red river. This is done by giving them food, medicines, water filters (for clean drinking water), toothpaste, second-hand warm clothes and free showers in winter, etc.
The Red River is the biggest river in Vietnam. The delta is located in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. The city continues to expand with many people coming from the countryside into the urban area. This however, is an expensive endeavor with the government imposing a tax on people coming from the rural area to prevent a massive influx of people. Some people decide however to come despite this financial situation and thus must live in house boats at the river to escape from having to pay. Since they do not technically live in Hanoi they must pay for school which is usually free until the age of 12. The entire family must work hours that most people would consider inhumane. The children wander the streets begging and collecting rubbish. An entire family barely makes $2 a day.

For more info and enrollment, please go to: www.cadip.org/volunteer-in-vietnam.htm

To learn more about the international volunteer workcamps go to: www.cadip.org/workcamp.htm or give us a call:
 617-502-0400

 604-628-7400

Volunteer opportunities in other countries: www.cadip.org
