<![CDATA[She is up for adoption to a Good Loving Home with a $35 Adoption Fee. I found this Sweet Young Girl at a Flea Market tied to a PickUp Truck and the guy was going to leave her there if no one took her. The pavement was so hot she must have walked around in circles and tightened the lead she was on as it was tangled and choking her. And she was extremely underweight. I didn't ask too many questions about her because all I was interested in was getting her unhooked and out of there. Thats how I got her. Now, I took her to the vet and had her Rabies, Distemper, Flea Med, HeartGuard and she has been wormed. I bought her a beautiful collar and leash and Blue Buffalo Dog Food to get her back on a healthy track. She is playful, loving, and a typical puppy who needs to run around and use all that energy up. I have been crate training her and she is doing wonderful. She hasn't had any accidents in the house so far but she is a puppy and I'm sure they'll be one or two down the road. I'm guessing that she was never walked on a leash because she doesn't want to move but I'm working on that and she's just starting to get the hang of it. These are the requirements for adopting her..........A Fenced in Yard where she can run and play without worry and She must remain a inside dog with access to outside. I don't want her chained up and left there with no one to love her as I suspect she must have came from that kind of a situation from all the red dirt in her ears. She is too sweet of a girl to let that happen to her again. Next, a home inspection before you get the dog (you can come meet her at my house first) and another in 2 weeks, and a vet reference (if no vet reference, then you must prepay for her spaying before you get her), and last but not least....If you decide NOT to keep her, I must be contacted so I can take her back. I do not want her to end up in a shelter/pound. I didn't save her life to be put back into hell again. I have called all the shelters in the Atlanta area and they have a 90% kill rate. He's a really sweet dog - husky shepard mix, about 2 years old, he does need to be crate trained. He follows commands pretty well, but he has basically lived his short life in a basement by himself and left for sometimes days at a time so he was never really housebroken. He is great with kids - I have had him around my daughter who is two. <![CDATA[I recently saved two male black lab mix pups (they look identical to a pure breed, yet they aren't) and I need to find a loving and caring home for each of them. They have had a rough start in life, being raised outdoors until just recently when I rescued them. Their sisters had been eaten by coyotes. They were inevitably going to die and I could not bare to see that happen. I know that there are alot of sick people out there who have other plans in mind for puppies, and if that is the case, then please spare me your reply. However, they are the most intelligent little things, already nearly potty trained, kennel trained, they walk well on a leash and they've had all precautionary pills and baths due to their being raised outside. However, it is essential that you would be willing to take them to the vet as soon as possible for their puppy shots and simply to detect anything that I may not be able to. <![CDATA[Jester, nicknamed "Bebe," is a sweet and loveable cat I rescued from the animal control center in January of this year. Bebe is neutered and has had all of his shots. His grey fur is silky soft, and I am certain he is at least a chartreux mix, if not a purebreed chartreux. As is common for the breed, Bebe is a very quiet cat and very rarely meows a lot. He is sweet though, and likes to cuddle. He would do well in just about any loving home. He is good with children, as well as older folks. He takes some time to warm up to other animals, but he is never hostile and does warm up to them after a while. He has tolerated my roommates dog all right as well. As much as I hate to give him up, I cannot keep all of my animals where I am going. Bebe really needs and really deserves a good and loving forever home. <![CDATA[I have recently taken a German Shepherd into my care, his name is King, and I must find another home for him. His vet says he is full German Shepherd and he is about 1 year old. This is a beautiful dog with the most desired markings. He has recently been neutered and is up to date on all shots. He was underweight when I took him into my care but he has gained weight and now weighs approximately 70 pounds, and should continue gaining up to 90lbs. Though we are not sure of his background King appears to have been through rigorous obedience training and can sit, stay, lay down, high five, roll over, fetch, catch, etc. He is also house trained. We suspect he has been through some sort of police training. He is not aggressive to new people, or anyone for that matter, but he is protective of me as well as my property (yard). He prefers to live inside but definitely needs a fenced in yard and would do best as your only pet, as he does not like cats and we're are unsure of how he would react turned loose with another dog. His new owner needs to have experience with the breed, or at least similar breeds, and a home with only adults or older children would probably be best. He is a wonderful, loving dog and I would love to keep him but that is not possible. Serious inquiries only, there will be a small adoption fee. <![CDATA[We have had Jacola for almost 5 years now. We worked 1st shift when we adopted her, and now work 3rd shift. She is a very very friendly, lovable bird. She talks and gives kisses - never bites. She needs more attention than we can give. She is so loving, and needs someone who has LOTS of time to love her. Cockatoos are like 3 year olds for EVER !! Please !! Realize that she will be a life-long commitment. I know, ...... knowing this ourselves, we shouldn't be looking for a home for her, but our circumstances changed. I should have tried to find him a home then because I have 4 other dogs and 2 older cats, but he was such a sweetie I kept him around. He is neutered and has current rabies vaccine. They eat one adult mouse every week to every other week. I'm asking a re homing fee of $100 for both, or $55 each. I paid $80 each, and have put much money into them. Adoption Form Required. He is from a litter of 6 that was a rescue litter of kittens. His Momma was a stray - she has been tested for FELV/FIV and is negative. He has been inside 100% since birth (except for a little supervised outside playtime) and is litter trained and had a deworming. ADOPTION FEE - $30 w/ Agreement - THIS FEE INCLUDES NEUTER DATE AT CHARLOTTE HUMANE SOCIETY on Toomey Ave which I have already prepaid. Kitten must be 4 months for the HS to neuter- HIS SCHEDULED SURGERY DATE IS 10/22/08. In addition to this fee, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR BOTH RABIES AND DISTEMPER VACCINES required for acceptance by the HS for the kittens alteration. You may do this at your own vet, OR YOU CAN HAVE THEM ADMINISTERED ON THE DATE OF SURGERY BY THE HS. Currently,their fees are $5 rabies, $8 distemper. So basically, you will have to pay direct to the HS, $13 on the date of surgery if you have not had these vaccines administered by your own vet. Once the surgery date arrives you can either take the kitten yourself or bring it back to me and I will transport it to/from the Humane Society for alteration. If you choose to have your animal vetted and altered outside of the HS, your adoption fee will be refunded AFTER PROOF OF THESE SERVICES has been provided to me. ]]>

She`s litter box trained, loves other Cats, and enjoys being outside. She`s very sweet and well behaved. She really needs someone who can take care of her properly. He was fine with his first set of shots but when he got his last set his face/nose swelled up all bumpy and had an allergic reaction! I Had to rush him back to the vet so he could get a quick shot of Benadryl. Also about the testing of rabies as the other poster put they are right you can only test if a dog/animal has rabies by decapitating them and testing their brain. Not fun!!!!!! And two females - One is almost like a grey tabby mixed with a calico, and the other is black with brown spots throughout and a white chest and chin. I need to find good homes for them and I dont have the heart to take them to a shelter (That is how I ended up with three kittens) The kittens are approx. 9-10 weeks now. <![CDATA[The last poster puts it very well. They can go into anaphylactic shock without warning. My mini dachsie is allergic to vaccines and even with getting premedicated by the vet with Benadryl (due to a previous mild shot reaction), she went into anaphylactic shock in the exam room and they almost could not save her by taking her immediately to the back and resuscitating her. I live in SC and I use Pet Med Mobile. Their website is - www.petmedmobile.com They are out of Greenville, SC and are in the York County area usually every weekend (or atleast several times a month). They only charge $7 for rabies and $7 for dhlpp. The vaccines are administered by a licensed vet with vet techs there - so if there are any reactions they could deal with them. Just fyi - hope it helps. Also, I know from a lab breeder in Charlotte that I got my lab from - NC state law prohibits anyone other than vets to administer a rabies vaccine that they will accept as valid (or that was still the law a few years ago). ]]>

<![CDATA[My puppy got out of the gate and went across the street to the hotel on I85 south and Tuckaseegee Rd. He got lost on Saturday morning around or between 12:30 am and 1:00 am. Several people say they saw him but no one knows what happen to him. I have put flyers up and handed them out. I really just want him back his a little over two months old. <![CDATA[Female black lab, 6 months old, born January of this year. It is hard to train dogs for hunting when you have 2. We had originally just wanted one and I liked the female more, she has more personality and is smarter than the male and so we kept both. My husband had wanted the male so we wouldn't have to pay to get him fixed. She is well behaved, very obedient. She fetches, swims and plays. She is a great protector too. She does not bark unnecessarily which is wonderful! She gets along well with other animals, cats, dogs, pigs, ducks, chickens. She is not registered. She is going to be big! She has lived on our farm with a pond and would probably prefer to go to a country home or farm. She LOVES children. I am asking for a $20 adoption fee. We are in York, SC. <![CDATA[The shot is easy, hold the dog, pick up the by the hair and make a tent, then give the shot. Anyone who doesnt own the dog and gives it a shot is practicing medicine without a license so you'll probably not get any takers. The reason you should really go to the vet with your level of knowledge is that you'll have no idea what to do if there's a reaction. Its not common, but dogs can have allergic reactions to vaccines and go into anaphylactic shock before you realize it. Make sure you do your shot early in the morning so you can make it to your regular vet if you have problems. Emergency vets love to charge big money for home shots that go bad. There are low cost vaccines in the area. Call some local rescue groups and ask for info. You wont be able to find rabies shots in the feed store. The test for rabies on a dog that's bitten someone isnt done on a live dog.]]>

<![CDATA[Roxy is a very sweet girl unfortuneatly she spends too much time in her crate and it is not fair to her. She is not good with other dogs especially if she does not know them or if they are bigger than her. She would be best in a home with no other dogs. She really needs a home where she can get alot of love. She survived a tough life but due to alot of changes in my life I feel it would be best for her to be placed in another home. She is about 3 years old and has not been spayed yet because she is allergic to the anesthesia. I have all vet work and she is up to date on shots and licensed in mecklenburg county. She is a great dog. NOT AN OUTSIDE dog to be just chained up. My boyfriend would like her to be somewhere where he can still see her as he loves her to death but we just are not at a point where it would be ok to have her. <![CDATA[I had a puppy come to my house a month ago, and he would not let anyone get close to him. He was scared to death. I noticed that his collar was so tight, that it was choking him. I tryed feeding him to get the collar off, but he would not come, so finally Monday he finally came up to me, so I gave him some food. Everytime he tried to swallow, he would get choked, because the collar was so tight. Tuesday he started getting use to me, and he let me cut his collar off. Every since i cut the collar off, it is almost like his spirit has lifted. He runs and plays in the yard with my other dogs, he meets me a the car when I get home from work. He is just a puppy and he needs to go the vet because where the collar was so tight, it has rubbed his neck raw. He looks like a golden retriver. So please someone help.
