Includes participation in contractual negotiations. • Acts as network representative to outside organizations and responsible for maintaining relationships with external content vendors, producers and clients. • Adherence to and accountability for all aspects of network’s budgetary and production standards, as well as contractual and deliverables requirements for network’s programming. Requires clear, on-going communication of network’s editorial guidelines and standards of quality to outside production companies, particularly during story development and editing stages, including early notification of productions not meeting network standards. • Management of multiple outside production companies on multiple series and specials simultaneously, and in coordination with network internal departments to ensure timely, effective and on-budget development, production and delivery of original commissions and co-productions. • Will be expected to share ideas and contribute to the strategic vision and direction of the acquired network content. Think through the “big picture” when managing the production or editing process. • Serve as Main Contact on all aspects of production for Network’s acquired/co-produced projects as assigned by Acquisitions VP. • Work with outside production companies/vendors in restructuring/editing of newly licensed network content. As series develops and continues into future seasons, oversee and content adherence to network brand and direction. • Communication of production stages and information to all internal (ex. Production Management, Business Affairs, Legal, Scheduling, Marketing, Communications, Online, etc.) and external parties associated with the production including the Network senior management team as necessary. • Supervision of all production phases of reversions or repackaging, including editing, narration, post-production audio, scripting, graphics and field and studio production. • Work directly with On-air Strategist and Content Scheduling Manager in timely delivery of content for broadcast scheduling. • Work with Promotions, Website, Graphics and Closed Caption departments as needed. • Proof and approve shows for air. • Handle any revisions and corrections as needed. JOB REQUIREMENTS Adept at understanding the business climate of a television network and must have a strong knowledge of the interests of the network’s audience. Strong business knowledge, leadership ability and a technical understanding of how network/cable operations and content production. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Responsible for quality of final audio product, in both broadcast and post production • Be able to interface with clients to bring their vision to a realization in sound • Be able to take direction and go forward with various levels of supervision while maintaining high quality results. • Edit audio for video projects from the non-linear and linear video editing suites of Media-Comm using a Pro-Tools HD non-linear system. • Possess skill in sound design, Foley, and sound fx usage. • Manage all functions of the audio suite from recording voice over, ISDN, CD duplicating, computer maintenance, session archiving of different formats, etc. • Possess knowledge and skill with surround editing and mixing • Possess knowledge and skill in using music composition tools such as Reason and Logic via MIDI implementation. • Have and maintain a broad knowledge of the latest equipment, designs, and techniques • Able to function as A1 for live broadcasts for INSP and external client programs. ]]>
