<![CDATA[Underdog is a handsome black lab with a nice blocky head. We rescued him from the pound. He is very, very people friendly, but he minds well and would be easily trainable if someone were patient. However, he must have a home WITHOUT CATS. The ideal adopter would be someone home a lot who can spend time with him and pay him the attention he wants. Well-fenced yard a must, preferably privacy fencing. Vet refs. required. No small children - he is a bit too energetic and strong, but sensible older children may be OK. He might do best as an only dog, but he has lived with another big dog - we're not sure how he'd be w/ smaller dogs. We are a cat rescue and have nowhere to keep him. We have incurred $800 in vet care and boarding charges for Underdog so far, and at the moment have no money to pay for it all. We can't go on incurring boarding charges and may have no alternative but to put him to sleep in another week or so if he doesn't get adopted. We have 200+ cats to support and don't have enough money for their food and vet care lately as I was recently diagnosed w/ cancer and haven't been able to get out to do adoptions and raise money like we usually do. Isn't there someone responsible out there who could give Underdog a good home and relieve us of the burden of the expense of his boarding fees? He was neutered on October 7th, has fully recovered, has received the appropriate shots and medical attention, and is in need of a new home. He's a grey tabby, with white face and chest markings and black rings on his tail. He was rescued approximately 3 weeks ago from D Avenue toward West Columbia. He is litter trained and handles being inside well, indicating that he was once a domestic cat before being abandoned. However, he is quite skiddish and hesitant to people and not yet fond of being touched. But, after having him only 1.5 weeks, he's warmed up drastically to me, therefore I'm sure he would readjust and warm up quickly to nice, new owners. He loves Pounce cat treats and can be lured just about anywhere with them, and he loves to play with ribbon. I'm looking for a good home that understands that this is not a lap cat, and is slowly being readjusted to the domestic cat lifestyle. He is a good cat and quite talkative with many quirks. Another cream colored tabby is a female(Right). It would be best if they went to a home together since they are siblings. They grew up outside on our porch so they will be fine outside cats. But if you want them inside they do know how to use a litterbox. <![CDATA[PLEASE CROSSPOST!!! Hi all Avery is a German Shorthaird Pointer that Cullen's Archangel Rescue pulled from a high kill shelter here in SC last week. With a little work we were able to track down her owners thru her microchip. Avery was stolen out of a fenced in backyard while her family was on vacation a year ago this month. Avery is from Colorado Springs CO.. How she ended up in a Columbia Sc kill shelter we probably wont ever know...now we are working hard on how to get her home to her family. We are to the point where we feel they deserve a better life because we can not care for them properly and I don't see things getting better any time soon. All 3 are female and have been fixed and have had shots. They are good with kids, but not with dogs. They all tolerate other cats, but will keep their distance from them. 1 is about 2 yrs old, 1 1/2 is about 1 yr, and the other is about 1 yr old. They are great inside or outside. I wish there was a way to keep them, but right now there's just no way. There will be a rehoming fee of $30, but we will neg. that if needed.
