I recently purchased a turbo there and I only went that route because the customer needed his car quick because he had to dispose of it before moving to England.I purchased the turbo For 400.00 because they said they had it.I could have got a rebuilt cartridge for 160.00 but would have had to wait over a week.I got that turbo and it was so worn out that I just decided to order a rebuild kit for 45.00 and I ended up purchasing the VW from the man now I have a VW I really dident want.That turbo was so worn out that when I took the housings off it literally fell apart the impellers shaft bushing slid right out(it is supposed to have snap ring that holds it in place) the bushing and snap ring just fell out.this turbo would have destroyed an engine had I been stupid enough to install it. <![CDATA[How I Won at Walmart April 23rd, 2008 12:41 PM The weekend so much to do seems like we never get to all the chores. The lawn has grown a foot taller overnight, the trash has to go to the curb by 5am (it may sit there till 5pm but if it’s not there at 5am the trash pick- up truck is there at 5:01), and all the other stuff that needs doing, will it ever end. (I know the answer thank you very much) Oh, and the weekend is when we shop for all the supplies that we need to take us through to next weekend. I have decided that the best way to keep from doing the other chores for a couple of hours was to go with my wife to the store it has some other benefits as well, I get to pick out the stuff I like. We like so many others in our area shop at Wal-Mart (the closest store to our home), I push the cart and my wife loads it with all the goodies, this happens every weekend with the big shop (or whatever you call it, the weekend that you need everything) every other weekend. No big deal right, you go through the store and load the cart and when they total it up it is always too much. (Why does it cost $100 dollars for two bags of stuff?) This weekend started out just like all the other weekends only something was different this time. My wife had collected every supermarket ad flyer she could find (the ones that come in the mail from every supermarket within 100 miles) and was looking at them as we left the house. So, I ask where are we going, Wal-Mart she said. I answered with Wal-Mart it is then. I did not ask what the flyers where for in fear that the whole day was going to be spent driving from one store to the next to save a dollar on beans or some other item. (All I can think about is that gas is almost $3.50 a gallon and we get 18 miles to gallon and the next store is 4 miles from Wal-Mart… you get the picture) When we arrived at Wally World as I like to call it, She grab up all the flyers and we head to the entrance, I am in search of a cart that didn’t pull right or left too bad and hopefully didn’t make that thump noise too load, After choosing my vessel, I was to meet her inside, when I got there, she put her purse in the basket and started spreading the flyers out in the cart (must be some germ thing I’m thinking to myself) So at this point I have to ask.. She informs me that Wal-Mart will honor other stores ads. Really, I said in somewhat disbelief (as we had flyers from stores I had never heard of and had no desire to go to) when did you find this out and from where, I ask. Well one of the ladies that she works with had told her about it. Oh, only one a of the 30 ladies you work with, Yes she said and what do we have to lose I am buying the same stuff we always get. Who I am I to disagree with something that might save some money, so shopping we go. We went up and down the aisles picking up the things we needed (by the way did I mention that this was the big shop weekend) and as we went to and fro she would look at the flyers and say things like 29 cents less a can or these are only a dollar or 10 for 5 dollars this went on throughout the store. The savings were adding up in my head like I had a calculator built in. When we got to produce I could hardly believe what I was hearing tomatoes one dollar a pound less then Wal-Mart’s Rolled Back Super Savings Special price… this will never happen was all I could think. The checker looked like any other Wal-Mart checker (and you know what I mean) she smiled and ask if we had found everything (I was smiling as well, fear I think it was that all my savings all 20 cents here and a dollar there was about to be nothing but a dream) my wife told her that we had found everything and then she asked…. Her (the checker) if she did the other store price match and if she would like those items first or did it matter. Much to my amazement she said it did not matter that she would do it (price match) any way my wife wanted. And so it begins the checking of items and the matching of other stores prices WOW …… We saved over 35 DOLLARS I left Wally World feeling like I had won something big. I was able to beat the big guy at his own game because now I knew one of his secrets and from now on I was in control. OK so maybe it was not such a big deal but anytime we as consumers can learn how to save some money on the things we need to live it’s a good thing. A recent poll discovered that an increasing number of people are foregoing the full-blown vacation route this year and choosing to do more "staycationing", taking smaller, local trips closer to home. With higher gas prices and an uneasy economy, more and more people are searching for fun, quick AND less expensive vacation options in their local area. "We just couldn't afford to go anywhere this year", says Tamela G. of Westlake. "Driving would have cost us at least $300 or more by itself." An unintended biproduct of this stay-closer-to-home-this-summer mindset has been that fewer dog owners who would normally board their dogs while on vacation are choosing to do so this year. Instead, they are simply opting to take their dogs with them on trips to places like local parks, nature preserves, hiking trails, the beach and camping. "I had been planning to go to Colorado with my brother and a good friend of ours for well over a year", says Mike B. of Addison, who was interviewed for this piece as he was purchasing a Bull Dog Bag. "But as the gas prices just kept going up higher and higher, setting records, like, every day, we had to start rethinking things. We hadn't bought our plane tickets yet, and decided we would take that money and just rent a car and drive to San Marcos or somewhere not too far from Dallas, but far enough away to feel like we were getting away from home for a while. My daughter was sent home a while back, a doing extensive checking around with parents in different areas, there have been a number of them who have had to deal with it from the children. My daughter was not aloud to return to schoo for about 10 days because the checked every time .. if one knit was found she was sent home . we finally got rid of it. I asked the school if it was possible to at least send something home to parents in regards to checking for head lice or even do some kind of check through some of the classes. Was told that they consider it an envasion of privacy. Only I guess that didn't apply to my daughter. I now have to appear in court and face a possible fine for my daughter missing too much school. they dont consider head lice (although sent home by the school) and excused absent. I know it seems like an embarassment to say your kid has had lice, but it is something that happens and apparently is happening in other cities as well (highland park). If the school doesn't acknowledge it then it will contiue to be a problem. Doing research through public info I have found that they have at least had the problem before because I found a proposal to accept bids on school supplies by the purchasing dept. <![CDATA[I was in an accident 2-19-08. I was driving South bound on 1-35W and the road was down to two lanes right around 820. I switched from the right to the left lane, and have about 70 feet clearance. 20 in front, 50 in behind. There was a brown Chevy in front of me, and an 18 wheeler behind me. Traffic was moving at about 35 mph. I then realized that the semi behind me was closing the gap between us and was honking one loud, LONG honk. This went on for about a quarter mile and traffic slowed down more. When I stopped, he didn't, and he rear ended me square in the middle of the back of my car. (I drove a 2000 4 door Toyota Echo that is NOW totalled and sitting in salvage.) One police officer arrived at the scene and all he did was get my license out of my purse and unbuckle me. EMT arrived less than a minute after the officer did. $5000 in medical bills later, I had some micro tears in my muscles around my neck and collar bone. Very painful, but I recovered in less than two weeks and I am a student, so I don't work. (No missed wages etc.) It took until APRIL 14th to get the police report submitted. After three dozen phone calls to records, and one phone call into a fellow cop-friend that knew the officer that responded to the scene, and multiple calls to the police station we thought we were getting some where. I talked personally to this officer's sergeant more than once trying to get this report turned in. TEN BUSINESS DAYS. THAT'S THEIR OWN RULE. It took almost two months to get the report and now that I have it, it's full of LIES. I was not hit going 55 mph, and the semi going 60. It was more like 10 mph, and atleast 20 from the semi. My car is NOT a two door, it's a four door. I am white, not hispanic, and I have light skin and my DL says I'm Caucasian. I went from the right lane, into the left lane and was there more than a 1/4 a mile. His diagram shows me getting hit only on the back left side as if I had crashed into the semi instead of the semi crashing into me. The highway was not 3 lanes, it was 2. I spoke with one of the officer's sargeants yesterday who was very condescending towards me and said that they could only change the FACTS. WELL GUESS WHAT, THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE THE FACTS RIGHT. He said that if I felt I needed to submit an amendment to the Texas DPS in Austin to have my affidavit attached to the report, I could. Well first off, THEY need to change the FACTS. He then also said that records down town is "so screwy" that they lost my report. BULLSHIT. If that's the case then why does the bottom of my police report show that he did it April 14th. The sargeant claims that the officer simply went and RE-UPLOADED the report from his flash drive. Well that's great, so why don't the dates add up? Also. My car had more than $4600 worth of damage and was totalled out. The officer's report said I only had damage done to my back left side and it was less than $1000 worth of damage. With the naked eye you could see that there was damage all the way across the back and you could see the point of impact being right in the middle of my back bumper and trunk. With a more thorough investigation Progressive found damage all the way across the back of my bumper. (Just like MY STORY SAYS. HE REAR ENDED ME SQUARE ON.) So now what am I going to do? I'm going to start spreading the word. I will be giving Fort Worth PD the opportunity to change their report and if not, then I am contacting the media and will be filing papers against the Police Department. It took two months for me to get a report that isn't FACTUAL. I am more than pissed because I do have medical bills that are due. Any help, adivce, information on who to contact would be greatly appreciated. ]]>
