The Central Service Trainee is responsible for cleaning and decontaminating instruments, equipment, and reusable supplies used in the processing of human donor bone and tissue. This position is also responsible for maintaining records of all autoclave loads and all other records pertaining to Central Service documentation. This position requires the CS technician to lift a number of items that are at a minimum of 35 lbs. Standing for 6 to 8 hours is required depending on the task at hand. The risk of exposure to chemicals and heat from the autoclaves is also a factor and therefore protective clothing shall be worn at all times.
