<br>
<br>
AnyWare Polling is a project of PlaceMatters. PlaceMatters is a non-profit 501c(3) organization whose mission is to build sustainable communities through better decision making. We build and implement tools to engage the public around planning issues. AnyWare polling is a part of our suite of tools being developed to drive this mission. AnyWare polling is web based so as to remain flexible and deployable on many systems. One key challenge in this development is integrating a keypad system (ClikAPAD) into the web based tool. We are everyone in the room. This process allows planners and other decision makers to get quick feedback on important issues while avoiding the problem of the vocal minority. The system is comprised of credit card sized RF devices and a small base receiver connected to a computer through USB. Through a developers agreement with ClikAPAD, PlaceMatters has access to the API for developing software for this system. The API comes with an ActiveX control (OCX control) and integrates easily into Microsoft Visual Studio and Studio Express products. The languages available for development are C#.NET, Visual C++, and VB.NET.
<br>
<br>
Requirements
<br>
Create a lightweight middleware application that sits on an administrator computer connected to the receiver via USB (see diagram) that can:

<br>
a. Unique keypad ID
<br>
b. Response ID
<br>
c. Timestamp of submission

4. Allow administrator to reconcile cached votes with server database
