Covered bands include Bush, 5 Finger Death Punch, Creed, 3 Doors Down, Garth Brooks, Exile, Duran Duran, Van Halen, Counting Crows, and a lot more. Seems like all thats on here is little kid's wanting to play metal, Or guy's wanting to play either blues or stale dime a dozen covers. Well anyways, here goes. You never know right? I am a singer that has/had a band that was doing really good. We had steady bookings, did great songs no other bands were doing, and it was most importantly.. FUN! Well our decline came due to the guitar player being an unfocused, broke, mental case that always had personal issues he brought to the band. We put up with it only because he could actually play the dam guitar well. We were all fed up with it and were looking to snag another replacement guitar player. Then after trying out the usual responders to ad's. You know the type. They respond and say how great they are, how focused & dependable they are, along with they want to be in just 1 fulltime band, ect.. Then they show up and either really dont know how to play/learn songs, or they are just looking to get out of the house once in awhile cause their 300lb wife/girlfriend nags them. Or the worst is the guys that show up and got 2-4 other bands because they cant be loyal to just 1 project anymore. I mean I know guys like to play different music and all, and I dont have a problem with people having other projects. But when they cant rehearse on a Thurs-Fri-Sat ect because they got to go to an open mic, or rehearse with another band, then we got an issue.. So after not finding a replacement on guitar fast enough. We lost our bass player to a relocation move. Then to top it off. Our second guitar player/keys had to drop out due to health isuues & his wife now being home due to job loss. Now it brings us to why i am here looking.. I am sooooooooo tired of being the only one always trying to keep things together & being the only one putting in the effort. I do all the running around booking new venues. I send out all the emails with set lists, new songs to learn, and putting everyone on the same page for rehearsal day. But I really dont mind doing all that. Thats what being in a band is about. I just hate being the only one that actually cares & who tries to make the band better. It's Our Band, not a MY BAND type of singer and just some guys as a backing band. I also dont mind sharing the stage with guys in the band that also like to sing 2-4 songs a nite. It adds depth and gives me a break. Now on to what I am looking to do. I would like to join 2-4 guy's that already got it together and just needs a singer, or needs just another guitar, bass, or drummer. Or I would like to re-form what was once a great band and just start from scratch. I know alot of other pro/vet types who are looking to get something going, so I can also bring in a musician or 2 to fill in the missing gaps. I also have great venues that always book us steady or add us to rotation circut. No door splits or bars that require a handgun to make it back out to your buggy at 2am. What I wont sing is as follows. Stale covers all these bands are doing like "Sweet Home Ala" "What I Like About You" or "I Want You to Want Me" type of stuff. I also wont be doing any stuff you hear on the radio like 89X, WRIF, & MTV.. It's garbage & they are all doing it.. Also if your a blues band, dont even bother.. How many times are people going to have to walk out of a bar because the 8th song in your set list, sounds just like the other 7 previous 20 minute songs you just played, before you get it? What I sing is late 70's Punk, 80's New Wave, and mix in some other obscure Classic Rock that other bands dont/wont/cant do. The crowds & bar owners love it, and pay us well to do it.
