<![CDATA[After a lot of prayer and tears we've decided we must rehome our nearly 2 year old furry friend. He will be 2 on August 1. He is half hound and half boston terrier (weird mix, I know, but he sure is cute!) He is fully vetted (including neutered) and anybody who adopts him will receive the info to access his vet records. He loves other dogs to death, but even more he loves the company of human companions. His only downfalls are that he has a weak bladder and CANNOT be fully housetrained, and he is a fence jumper. He'd be an awesome outside dog if you have either a six foot plus fence or a similar safe situation for him. He's been an inside dog all his life but we are about to have kids and with the frequent urination problem it's not been working, and we're not in a safe area for outdoor dogs. I would have given this loveable puppy that I could not keep to another family that would have loved him, not resell him for more money. <![CDATA[I am very sorry to hear that any one had a bad experience at the Robeson County Shelter only because I for my self and 2 others adopted 3 dogs about 8 weeks ago and had no problems with any disease or anything else. Matter of fact I took my puppy to the vet that very monday (we adopted on friday) had a complete exam and recieved a bill of good health as well as the other 2 dogs my friends adopted. As is, may be because sometimes abandond animals come to them with some thing doesnt mean they neglected them but somebody else did. We found the shelter to be extremly clean, we arrived before opening at 10am and they opened promptly at 10am as we were told they would. All>and I mean all of the animals were as clean as a pin as well as their kennels, and their food bowls were clean and filled to the brim. I walked all around and all of the dogs were looking back with curiosity yet content where they were. None were angry or barking out of control they seemed to be very comfortable and safe there. This made me feel they trusted who was taking care of them>because they did it well. I thank all those at the Robeson County Animal Shelter for all you do and how well you do it. He is a great house dog, completely trained. He will bark if he needs to go out. He is not agressive at all so if you want a protective watch dog, this one is not the one. But he looks tough enough that strange people are afraid. People will think twice about coming into your yard or house. He is very lazy and will lay around all day. He will not chew on things like a puppy and is safe to leave in house all day. He rides in the car or back of the truck. This a great dog, he is great with kids but a little rough with dogs smaller that he is. But he just wants to play with them. He will sleep in the bed with you if you let him and will take over your couch. He does not bark at people that approach or even come in you house but we will bark a few times to let you know he needs to go out. I love this dog but I am not at home enough to spend enough time with him. He has never shown any agression, ever, unless you are playing then he sounds like a monster but only in play. He has never had a reason to fight and knows nothing about anger. You can take his food away and never be afraid, this dog just doesn't have it in him. He has a kind good nature. He has been fixed and microchipped. He is about 4 years old so he has no puppy ways. He will play ball and frisby, as long as he feels like it but would rather be laying on a pillow somewhere. We took them in and got them both updated on all shots. We have already spayed one. They were both tested for FIV and FLK. Tests came back clear. Fecal tests came back clean. Heartworm tests were negetive. They both have their rabies tag and certificates. No fleas, no earmites, They are very clean and friendly. One is a bed cat and a lap cat. She loves to be loved. The other is very playful and loves attention. She is also a lap cat. They are both really great with our kids, a 2yr old and an 8 month old. I will provide vet papers. I highly recommend the Reilly Road Animal Hospital. They are great!!! They have helped us with many abandoned cats we have rescued. They do not have to stay together but you may have them both. We cannot keep them because we will be in PA for the whole month of June. Pets are very expensive and require a lot of love and attention. <![CDATA[Hi, Please don't flame me, but I do want to give this dog as much of a chance. I spent the last 2 weeks trying to catch a really cool looking dog behind my house. I've only seen it a few times, and today I had time to catch it... I finally caught it, but can't afford to vet it and I don't believe it's safe to have pets that aren't vetted because I don't want to take chances with my dog. So once I caught it, I had do something with it (I don't have a fenced yard) so I took her to the Harnett Shelter. It was very nice, and beautiful and needs a hell of grooming. The guy at the shelter said it looks like a show dog that just hasn't been taken care of. This picture isn't the actual dog, but wow does it look like it. It's an afghan hound. Rare and expensive. The one I found is very hairy, had less of a black face and alot less black on the ears. It was very nice and very pretty. I know Harnett is a dangerous place for dogs, and I'm scared for this dog. If you have room in your life and family for this dog, really you should check it out. It was gentle very friendly. ]]>

<![CDATA[Thanks to everyone's efforts, Cody's heartworm treatment was paid for & he is doing very well. However, this cute guy needs a home!!! He is living with his foster mom right now, but needs a home of his own. We need to find him a permanent home immediately. He's a 2-3 year old lab mix, super sweet, housetrained, up to date on shots and has already been treated for his heartworms, his foster home currently has 7 personally owned dogs that he has been playing with.
