<![CDATA[Heights Area Night Hike! We're going on a URBAN NIGHT HIKE in the Heights area! We'll meet at 7 PM at Onion Creek on White Oak Drive in the Heights, gear up and take off into the night at about 7:20. This hike is going to be moderately challenging, definitely more difficult than the last few we've done and about 6.5 miles long (~3 hours) with changes in terrain and grade all along the route. It's an urban hike with paths through the city, patches of woods, parks, cross bridges and down sidewalks. There will be the usual couple of rest breaks and restroom stop along the way. We will finish off back at Onion Creek, where all are invited to hang out and chill afterwards. Onion Creek Scared of the dark? Well don't be! This will be an illuminated hike! We will provide glow-in-the-dark light sticks and various decorations to light the way. You may bring any other glowing decorations you like! A special prize will be given for the most creative use of glow in the dark decorations.....! What to bring: usual hiking gear of lightweight loose clothing, comfortable shoes/boots you don't mind getting muddy (a possibility), at least 2 bottles of water per person, snacks, insect repellant, a small pocketsize flashlight and any other glowing things you want to wear/carry. You may want other shoes/socks for afterwards. You'll also want to bring ID for Onion Creek. As stated earlier, this is a moderately challenging urban area night hike starting and ending at a pub/coffeehouse and you should have at least a decent level of fitness to undertake this hike. That being said, please--no children or pets allowed. This will definitely be a new and interesting experience! Come on out and see the city by night! ]]>
