<br>
<br>
Duration: Direct Hire!!
<br>
<br>
*Job Description: My client on the NW side of Indianapolis is looking for a mid-level or senior level mechanical engineer to join their team to design machining centers. This candidate would join a team of 2 senior design engineers, 1 engineering manager, 1 product manager, and 1 detailer/parts designer. My manager is looking for a machining center designer with at least 5 years of experience (can be a little less than 5 years if they’re mid-level). This person also needs to have knowledge and exposure to finite element analysis (FEA) and vibration analysis experience would be a plus, but is not mandatory. They also must have experience with Solid Works (a 3D software package). He would consider the resume of a candidate who has SolidEdge or ProE (other software packages) and would be able to tell in an interview if the candidate can pick things up quickly. The candidate needs to have an overall solid background in machine design and building. My client can’t provide a lot of training and since this is a senior level position, they expect this person to hit the ground running. They must be able to design concepts and come up with new machine products. He’s looking for someone who can look at the machining centers and come up with ideas of how to make it better. My client has 35 new models of machining centers and they constantly want to make them bigger and faster with high speed technology. They need to be able to do this. This candidate can have designed these machines on a smaller scale as well.
<br>
These things are most important and must haves to look for when recruiting candidates:
<br>
1. Five or more years (little less for mid-level) of direct experience in design of machining centers
<br>
2. At least a Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering or related field
<br>
3. Fluency in Solid Works (or similar)
<br>
4. Experience working with FEA
<br>
The three most important tasks this individual will perform:
<br>
1. Research of competitor products to develop new machine concepts with leading technology
<br>
2. Evaluate new material use for main structure of new models
<br>
3. Justify concepts with necessary structural calculations and simple 3D modeling
<br>
Some travel is required and these team members also work with a design team stationed in Taiwan.
<br>
This need came about because they need someone to develop concepts for next generation products and evaluate alternate materials. They also need to be involved in the ongoing introduction of new higher end models.
<br>

<br>
<br>
Duration: Direct Hire!!
<br>
<br>
*Job Description: My client on the northwest side of Indianapolis has an immediate opening for a junior level tooling product specialist/application engineer for tooling in their online tooling division. Tooling set up or selecting tooling for different machines is the experience this client needs. Someone who’s had prior tooling experience with vendors and customers would be good for this position.
<br>
<br>
The three most important prerequisites for this position (education, training, experience) are the following:
<br>
• Education in engineering (can be a 2 or 4 year degree in engineering, computer science, or similar field)
<br>
• 5 years experience in tooling applications and sales (5-10 years experience; no more than 10 years)
<br>
• Experience in machining
<br>
*****experience can be a mixture of school and work experience!
<br>
<br>
The three most important tasks this individual will perform are the following:
<br>
• Answer customer questions on tooling applications
<br>
• Provide knowledge of tooling application and maintain an informative website which benefits tooling customers
<br>
• Provide recommendations on marketing strategies of milling and lathe tooling
<br>
• Assist forecasting the tooling sales and inventory management
<br>
This position is not a typical commission-based sales position where the individual has a territory and is expected to drive around doing “door to door” sales. It’s a customer support type role where this person will be responsible for helping US and Canadian customers through phone and email. This person will need to provide information and tooling knowledge and do website promotions, etc.
