<![CDATA[Jerry is a 2 yr. old German Shepard Dog/ Boxer Mix. He is 90 pounds of love and affection. He loves people and is great with kids. He is an indoor/outdoor dog, but he spend most of his time outside because he is very active. He stays in a 5 foot fence and I must require that the family that takes him have a fenced yard, or a very active lifestyle. He is very smart, but we have not been able to work with him much and so he doesn't know any tricks. We got Jerry as a puppy and we were unaware that he would be more active than what we have time for. We recommend a home with no cats. Jerry is very healthy and is up to date on all shots. He is also neutered. I hope that someone can give this loving dog a home where he can get some attention and play time. For this reason we are letting him go for free. We do not want cost to prohibit the right family from adopting this wonderful dog.]]>

<![CDATA[How can I say this? These kittens have faces only their mother (and I) can love. However, they have been by my bedside since day one and I have built up their self-esteem each day by telling them they are in the words of Stuart Smalley "good enough and smart enough and dog-gone it people will like them"! The pic with two kittens are the girls. The little yellow one is "Peanut" and she has Bette Davis eyes. She likes to play alone in her box and lets just put it this way...if she were in kindergarten she would be eating paste. She is sweet and lacks ambition. The grey striped next to her is "Jo Jo". Her two front feet don't match and she keeps her tail stuck up in the air all the time, even when she nurses. She is sweet and sassy. She loves to talk to you and to be talked to. Don't tell the rest but she's my favorite. Next boy is Junior. He looks like his Daddy, love his heart. He has a red striped head, a buff body and ends with a red striped tail. He is sweet and brave. He is the smartest and was the first one out of the box. He planned his escape for days. The picture of him is a little blurry because he would not hold still long enough for a good pic. Laking ambition myself, after twenty minutes I gave up so this is as good as it gets. And lastly, is dear little "Gimpy". Gimpy's little back legs turned out instead of front when he was born. Now he looks normal, but I still like the name "Gimpy". If you look close in the photo I am tickling his belly and his little tongue is stuck out. He is sweeeet and determined. The kittens are a little over six weeks old. There will be a $9.99 re-homing fee. Money will go to having Mama fixed. Send me an e-mail. <![CDATA[We rescued a pup last year thinking it would be the perfect addition to our family. We intended to have him indoors and spoil him rotten. He was very laid back and got along great with our other dogs and the cats. When I took him for a vet checkup to be sure he was healthy, he was found to have a parasite called coccidia. He has fully recovered and is healthy but after treating this illness, a totally new dog emerged. He has developed into a very dominant dog. He keeps out 50 lb Blue Heeler and our 20 lb Pug mix away from food. At all of 20 lbs and 1 1/2 years old, he runs the yard. I will be completely honest... Charlie is not house-trained and is a chewer but he is very intelligent and with individual attention, we think he'll be a wonderful pet for someone. We think he would do best with no other dogs. He has been around our cats and thinks they make excellent toys to chase. If you'd be interested in this dog, please email me and let me know what kind of home you'd give our Charlie. <![CDATA[I just recently moved up here from florida and just wanted everyone to know that I am willing to take in un-wanted reptiles. I have tons of experience with all different types and sizes. I have some of my own right now and still have space for more. I have turned an entire bedroom into a reptile room. If you have a reptile but don't want to give up the cage that they are in for some reason that is fine I have some open tanks right now. However I can always use more tanks since I do take in animals with out tanks. I am trying to get set up to start doing demonstrations for kids to teach them about all different types of reptiles so if I take in your animal there is a good chance that it will be used in a demonstration at some point. The only thing that I can not do is pay for the animal. I have payed for animals in the past and then had to put a ton of money into taking them to the vet and I just can't afford that. I have a soft spot for all of them because I know what wonderful animals they are. If you have one that you are getting rid of PLEASE DO NOT just abandon it or take it to a shelter. I will meet or pick up an hour or so from my home and take these animals to a shelter that is suited to their specific needs. I have reached the limit of animals that I can personally take in but I would still like to help. I have already talked to people and suggested rescues for them and then I personally contacted the rescues and put them in touch with one another to see if that was the option they wanted to choose. I may have even connected a lady to someone that would be willing to adopt her blind male 3 yr. old shih tzu. PLEASE just don't abandon them or throw them in a shelter where they will just be picked up by someone believing they are oh so cute without knowing anything about the breed. We tried to find his family, but nobody has claimed him we know he belonged to someone, and was not a stray because he was really clean and his nails were trimmed. <![CDATA[I am looking for a small-med loving dog for my mom. She adopted a sick boston terrier about 8 months ago and he took up with my disabled father and has became "his dog". The dog is fine now but my mom is a lil heartbroken because he only wants something to do with her when it involves food or daddy isn't around:( It must be a small-med younger dog in good health, male or female it does not matter (will be fixed anyway), MUST get along with other animals and small children. Has to be tough and love to play but not bite! She keeps my 4 yr old and he loves to play with dogs but our chocolate lab and jack russell are a lil tougher than the 6 lbs boston terrier! LOL! He is not mean to animals in anyway- just a boy who likes to play like a boy! This would be a forever home so it is very important that the dog is healthy last thing I need is for her to get attached and something happen to it! The animal would have regular check ups to ensure that it stays healthy. My parents are empty nesters and are now spoiling their "furry" children. I don't mind to pay a SMALL rehoming fee so you know that it would go to a good home but there are too many animals out there that are being abandoned out there for me to pay too much. General overview of the ways you can help: Home Visits to potential adoptive families. Home visits are vital for matching Mastiffs and families to assure the best outcome. They are also part of follow up after placement to assure the dog is thriving. Transportation might include moving a Mastiff from a shelter to a foster home; from a foster home to its new family or to a veterinarian for medical treatment. Identification when SSMR is notified there is a Mastiff in a shelter the volunteer would go to the shelter to identify it as a Mastiff. Often it turns out the animal is not a Mastiff and cannot be taken into the SSMR system. Evaluation one of the most critical steps is to evaluate a Mastiffs temperament for owner surrendered dogs, shelter dogs, strays and others to assure the Mastiff can be placed safely with a new family. Communications are very important jobs and would include contacting shelters, humane societies, fire and police personnel to assure they know who to contact if a mastiff is turned into their system or found by fire or police. Advising families who want to surrender their dog. A volunteer might offer suggestions for training techniques or other methods that better integrate the Mastiff into the family situation. If successful this might avoid the Mastiff ever reaching the rescue system. Mentoring new adoptive families by explaining the responsibilities and rewards of owning a mastiff. <![CDATA[I have a 5 month old Lab mix that I rescued. She is not from a shelter. I have 2 other dogs that just HATE have a puppy around. She is a "PUPPY" with all that that means! She is VERY active and needs a home with other younger dogs or children, or maybe very tolerant older dogs. She is not mean at all, she is just being a puppy and the other 2 dogs don't like it. She loves other dogs and ALL people! She is crate trained and for that matter, she is also gate trained. I have to open my gate to drive into the driveway, and she does not run or try to leave. She does have a food allergy (I think). She has very dry skin and she scratches a lot.....but evidentally it is an allergy to wheat. She is on regular puppy chow (that I will gladly send with her) that is wheat free. I had no idea that a LOT of puppies cannot tolerate wheat! I was told that this is common with black labs. <![CDATA[Hi, My name is Jade! Oh boy have my mommy and daddy bit off more than they can chew. They work a lot, and can't spend the quality time and exercise that I need to stay happy and healthy. They are very sad to give me to another loving family but they hate seeing me bored to tears..... I guess I am more for the sports loving, running, and hiking family than they originally thought. I have so much high energy that when I come in I expel my boredom and energy on chasing the cats. The cats doesn't like it when I chase them. One of my favorite things to do is go out on a trail with other dogs and horses. Spending time outside is great, although I really love being part of the family also. I am a little spoiled as I like to sleep in my crate indoors at night. My mommy tells me I am the sweetest girl she has ever know...... although I guess she is a bit biest : ) KIDS!! You've got kids! I love kids, all ages and sizes. I have played with kids from ages 7 months to teen years and of course they all loved me. I just love people in general. The closer I can be to you the better. Whew.... All this typing makes me want to have a snack....I think I will grab me some fruit loops and be right back...................................................... Oh yeah I forgot to mention I love that cereal. Although mom won't give me but a piece at a time every now and then but there my fav. You can teach me anything if you wave one of those in front of my nose. I learned "sit" in 5 minutes and "down" in 15 minutes. I am very intellegent although I really hate to brag...... : ) I do sometimes waver on the intellegence bit as I never can seem to find out why I can't catch my tail!! If you have any clues as to how to do that let me know. Mom always said there was something wrong with my tail cause every time I try to wag it my entire back end moves. I know, I can't help it I get overly excited. I started out as such a little puppy in an animal shelter just a few months ago. It was my last weekend to be adopted. Yeah I know, talkin' about the last second, right? So those first few weeks were a doozy. They expected me to pee outside!! I had never done that before. But, before long they had me convinced that that was the way to go, and I have been "going" ever since. So I am completely house broken and crate trained. My mommy and daddy are so proud of me! Since then I have grown into a beautiful girl. Back off boys....... this girl has been spayed, nothing but easy living from now on. Oh yeah and I forgot, I love all that wet white stuff. What was that called mom? Oh yeah.... snow. I had a blast in it. My first trip to the vet was amazing! I wasn't scared at all. I have since gotten all of my vaccines and am not due for anymore for a while. I guess I am just a fun loving girl who loves to play. I am fully grown now weighing at 48 pounds but I am only eleven months old. Its hard to believe the day they brought me home I onlly weighed 8 pounds. Ahh the memories.... I know you would just love me if you would give me a chance with your other dogs or kids. Playing ball with kids is the best time in the world for me. She needs someone that is home most of the day. she is about 6 to 7 yrs old and is silver and white. She is somewhat housetrained. What I mean by that is most days she will go without an accident than other she will pee in the floor. She has been vhecked out by the vet and there is nothing wrong with her he thinks she just gets mad and does it out of spite. She does need a home without small children or any other pets. Children makes her nervous and she doesnt get along with other animals. This is the reason I must give her up. I have both. She would probably do alot better on her housetraining issues if she went to a home without carpet. I think this is also a problem of hers cause we have had fostors in the past that has had accidents and even though the carpets have been cleaned thoroughly i think she can still detect it. <![CDATA[Bruce is a St. Bernard/Boxer mix, neutered, 2-3 years old. He weighs about 70 lbs. He is completely house trained and good on a leash. He is a good jogging partner. He also knows lots of commands. We adopted him from the Jeff. Co. Humane Society. We can only accomodate him inside, and he would be MUCH happier as an outside or outside/inside dog. He is up-to-date on all of his shots and is getting monthly heartworm prevention. He is the sweetest dog. He LOVES attention and would never try to harm someone.
