I had planned on getting a job but on my way back to Kentucky on fathers day with my daughter my car caught fire and was not able to be saved. i didnt have full cov. on the car so it was a loss 100%.Then my b/f's mother was kind enough to let us use her van till we get a new car and last week we had to put a new powersteering pump and the works in it. so that dipped into the money we had set aside for rent an for me to go back to see my daughter at the end of this month. vthen to top it of out phone was shut off do to not having the money to pay it. Its been one bad thing after another since i got down here and now im facing the fact that i may not getto see my daughter at the end of this month. <![CDATA[I see absolutely no reason why national insurance shouldn't become a reality. Instead of you paying hundreds of dollars per month (in some cases more), national insurance contributions run at around 2% of your income or welfare which saves you a bunch of money. Instead of the drug/health companies taking this money off you it stays in your pocket. There are no deductibles or co pays to worry about and any life threatening scenario gets treated straight away not months later as the anti national insurance would have us believe. Less major procedures such as hip replacements may take a couple of months but you won't die in that time. If you're saving a bunch of money how would that mean you're paying for another persons healthcare? Even welfare recipients pay for national insurance. The bottom line would be drug companies making less profit which lets face it is not such a bad idea. People who live in a country with national insurance do not have to worry about health insurance or any other related costs. When they need medication they pay around $10 for the prescription which gives them up to a 3 month supply. These people in countries with national insurance also have the option of private healthcare with monthly payment plans just like they do here. In Britain the biggest private healthcare provider are called BUPA. The emphasis is on treating people and making them well instead of the dollar bottom line. When a doctor graduates its about saving lives and not making money. Only in the USA is that reversed. Doctors overseas still make a great living and are at the top of the food chain. A true yardstick in measuring a country is to see how they look after their own people. Do you seriously condone that people are left behind in healthcare? Please think long and hard before donating any energy to this cause. I urge you to research this yourself. The World Health Organization ranks countries with national insurance far higher than the USA in overall healthcare.]]>
