<![CDATA[Vera Age: 2-3 yrs Weight: 19lbs Vera and 2 other dogs were rescued from the puppy mill in Millington that was raided and shut down in early February. All three dogs had never been out of the rabbit hutches they were kept in before coming into rescue. These poor dogs never touched grass, tile, concrete, hardwood floor, or any other surface except the chicken wire bottom of the cages they were kept in all their life. They were found living in their own excrement, with dirty water containers and several dogs confined to each rabbit hutch. They were only getting human contact when fed and when their babies were taken away. All 3 dogs were covered in MOTOR OIL, heartworm positive, had massive uterine infections, and were completely terrified of everything. Heartworm disease is very easy to prevent and due to lack of care, Vera and the other dogs need even more love and attention to rehabilitate them. Heartworm treatment is VERY expensive and taxing on both dog and caretaker. That is all past in their now!! They are in loving, nurturing foster homes with other dogs and are flourishing in a home environment. All 3 dogs required extensive and expensive medical care and tons of TLC, but have recovered fully. Vera is heartworm negative, spayed, on heartworm preventative, on Frontline +, up to date on shots, is house and crate trained and will kennel on command. Vera is nothing but love. She adores people now, since she has learned that not all people want to exploit her and her babies for profit. She is a total lap dog and loves to give and receive affection. She is a snuggle bug and would love to be able to sleep in bed with her family. Vera would like a forever home that will treat her like the sweet lovable girl she is where she is loved unconditionally and cared for with kindness and respect. <![CDATA[I would like to put out a call to ask if anyone that lives in the country that would be interested in having some feral cats on there property to be kinda like barn cats or mousers. I trap feral cats and get them spayed or neutered so that they do not continue to reproduce. I usually trap the cat and get it fixed and then release it where I trapped it BUT... every once in a while I run into a person that has 20+ cats at there house in the city and the city of memphis is trying to fine them for having them, even though people dump the cats at her home. And very mindful of the fact that alot of people just can't pay alot of money for vet care. To him and his staff the welfair of the animal comes first. My sister-in-law had 2 puppies that got very sick, but she didn't have the money to take them both to the vet and Dr. English gave her the meds she needed at a very LOW price. Wonderful man! The main thing is the animal gets a home that people will take care of them. <![CDATA[I don't know about heartworm shots, but I had my English Bulldog treated a couple of years ago and I got price quotes from SEVERAL different places. The quotes ranged from $1000 to $1500. I then called ANIMAL CARE HOSPITAL OF LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Dr. John English is the vet, and he did the treatment for less than $500 and she's been heartworm free ever since. He is in Riply, which is a bit of a drive, but it is totally worth it. All of his services are less than half of what other vets charge. I don't know how he does it, but I know he loves it and he does a great job. He also does all the work on my horses as well. Here is his information. Good luck! They might have spent that much money on shots/surgery or any other needs that dog might have. If you do not think that dog is worth $200.00 then that is your opinion. You are probably the same person that is constantly flagging people's post and accusing them of breeding or insulting them for spelling things incorrectly (which is very immature in my opinion). <![CDATA[I have the most beautiful red tabby short haired persian kitten whom I love. her name is bella and she is almost 5 months old. she is current with here shots and has been wormed. our problem is that her poop is absolutely horrible smelling. I have used every type of litter. ( yes the crazy expensive kind too) but nothing helps. it isn't diarreah just regular horrible smelling poop. when I got here she was on iams and I tried that but it didn't then I tried this science kind but to no prevail. my biggest problem is that it isn't just her poop but her butt too. she is so loveable but I gag when she sleeps within 3 feet of me. I would NEVER get rid of her for this problem. but if it could be fixed I would like it to be lol. and yes I even bathed her and scrubbed her tooshy to see if that would help. I would love to let her sleep in her favorite spot again (my chest) but until this is fixed that just can't. if anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it. thanks]]>

Her hair grows back and most of the year she has a normal very thick coat, more then most poms. But right now it is spring and she only has a thick coat around her neck and legs. Placing her for a friend who has moved, just looking for a great home who can ignore her ugly months. - No this is not a treatable condition, it will always come back. Steroids do not seem to help, she doesnt get sores or scratch, the hair just falls out. - Yes it is a genetic condition, common in all breeds that can be blue, caused by the hair color. She does not have "leather skin", her hair always comes back. - She does ok in the house but prefers to be outside, they had a large fenced in yard for her. - She does ok with other dogs and cats. I let her around my chickens and she thought "yummy!" and tried to chase them, so no homes with chickens! You must come here to get her. She is free to a good home! ]]>
