<![CDATA[Poor, precious little Blossom. Originally rescued from the tornadoes a few months back, she was finally going to go to her new home, when another dog attacked her. She is in rough shape now, with literally dozens of cuts, lacerations and punctures, a few abscesses, and a lot of bruising. She had to have her ears, two legs, and half of her face shaved. She is now on anti-biotics and pain relievers. She did nothing to provoke this, and although obviously in a lot of pain, throughout the process of getting bathed, shaved, cleaned up, poked and prodded, she was a champion, never so much as a growl. That said, she is now in need of a foster to recover in. This just happened last night, and she spent most of the day at the vet. She is a great pyrenees, weighing 70 pounds, but she's so calm, she seems smaller. She needs somewhere calm and quiet to recuperate for a few weeks. Once recovered from this, she will be transported to her new home in New England, but she obviously can’t go like this. Normally, she is great with other dogs, cats, kids, but precautions will need to be made for the next week or two. She is understandably cautious of other dogs right now, she’s not looking for trouble, but just needs her space. As long as other dogs aren’t going to be in her face or bouncing on her, she’s fine, she is currently in an emergency foster with 4 other dogs, and she's okay with them, but that foster is just too hectic for her right now. As for children, as long as there is carefully monitored interaction (so no sores are accidentally messed with), she’ll be fine. She is housetrained, well mannered in the house, good on a leash, and fine with cats. She is fully vetted, all shots, spayed, dewormed, and other than what just happened, she’s healthy. She’s been in foster care for two months (she was pretty traumatized from the tornadoes), so we know she is healthy. If you could foster her for the next 3-4 weeks to give her a chance to heal, she and we would greatly appreciate it. She is the sweetest, most precious dog, you won’t regret helping her out. *These pics were taken before, obviously, she doesn't look quite like this now.]]>

No cage or supplies, but we can give you information on how to build your own cage and the best places we've found in the area for supplies. <![CDATA[Roxie is a very sweet little girl who was rescued from being put to sleep once, but she can't stay where she was any longer, and needs a good home of her own. We're not really sure what she is, I once saw a beagle/shar pei mix, and she greatly reminds me of him, but I think she's just a mutt. She's about 5-6 months old, 30 pounds, and shouldn't be over 45 pounds full grown. She's a very pretty little girl, solid red. She's good with other dogs, has even gone to doggie day-care once or twice, and had a blast. She's great with playful, energetic dogs of all sizes. She also seems to show little to no interest in cats. She's been great with the kids she's been around, even a few 3-4 year olds. She is an energtic little girl, who would do best with a fenced yard and another dog to play with, but that is negotiable. She is housetrained, crate trained, pretty good on a leash, and generally pretty well behaved, smart, eager to please, and easy to train. She is spayed, up to date on shots, dewormed, and current on Flea and Heartworm prevention. I just wanted to say to the rest of craigslist that I know there are differences of opions about these "designer" dogs but I've been converted! I used to be anti hybrids or designer dogs but now I'm all for them. I not for puppy mills and I'm not for paying hundreds of dollars for dogs, but when my dear pup is gone I will be finding another Maltichon or a Bichon. AMAZING!! The friendliest, sweetest, smartest dog! I've owned many many dogs and this guy is number 1!! I know that he is this way because of the traits of the maltese and the bichon frise. He loves all people, does great with children, and cant get enough of the dogs and cats in our neighborhood. Not to mention, mine and my sons allergies are NOT impacted by him at ALL...we dont get stuffy, our eyes dont burn...it is so wonderful having my Dylan that I could literally cry. <![CDATA[I'm looking for a dog pen or kennel that is affordable to me as I am on disability and my income is extremely limited. If you've got something you want to give away, that would be fantastic, but I'm not holding my breath. I've got a very large German Shepherd and from having seen my brother's German Shepherd climb out of his 6 foot high pen (chain-link), I really think I need one that is higher than a 6 foot. I'm sure a 8 foot high would do the trick and keep me from worrying however, a 10 foot high would surely eliminate any and all concerns. Maybe I need a custom (permanent) built one, who knows? Looking on the net is a real pain in the behind as they have more than pens/kennels that they want you to have to look at and screen out before you ever get to a pen. Beside a high pen, I would also like it to be a bit roomy too. These ones that are barely 4 or 5 feet wide are really a big waste of people's money and effort, as far as putting them together goes, if you know what I mean. My ideal size pen would be 10'W x 15'L x 8'H or 10'H I will take a 6' high pen but only if the price is too good to pass up, but if someone thinks their 1/2 off deal is the only amount they will accept, then they can keep their pen and I'll just have to buy a new one, one that has a warranty that comes with it. If you have or if you know of someone who has a roomy one or ever know of a web site URL that has a large one, like I am speaking of, please let me know about it. Also, does anyone know what a fair price is to have an enclosed pen made ? Maybe even one that has a chain link top too, to keep him from climbing out. <![CDATA[We rescued a beautiful, tan & white beagle puppy that had been dumped off by a park/boat ramp a while back w/ no collar and hadn't eaten much. We took him home to fatten him up, have our vet check him out and eventually find him a home. That was about 2 months ago. He's healthy, about 5 or 6 months old (Vet estimated he was born sometime around late Nov / early Dec). He's mostly potty-trained as long as he gets out. He sleeps in a little crate at bedtime and goes potty outside every morning. Sometimes, he'll leave an afternoon "surprise" if indoors too long. We've hesitated thus far to let him go because A) our other dog has kind of enjoyed having a playmate around and B) he's so darn cute. The problem -- we were in the process of buying a new house when we found him, have since moved in, and don't have the fence to contain him like the old house, unless we leash him each time we go out. The other dog is a little older and stays close to us. If you have a fenced in yard where he can run around (chain link, as he's squirrelly enough to squeeze through a picket), then he would make a perfect puppy/companion. He's very playful, and good with other dogs and kids. (We have a 7 yr old little girl next door, who comes over just about every evening looking to play with the dogs) He'll sometimes chase the cats and bark at them but won't get too close for fear of getting a left hook kitty paw to the head. Our only issue is we don't have the right set-up with the right fence, so before we all get too attached, we may have to see that he goes to a good home with the proper set up. We love this dog….it's just not the right "set-up" and not the right time for a 2nd dog. --- If interested, his name is "Dutch" and he lives up in Hendersonville/Gallatin. ]]>

We would like for them to be cost efficient, but our main concern is that they will treat our babies with as much love as we do. We are mainly needing a check-up done on Bubba, our 1 and a 1/2 year old grey tabby. He had a really bad upper respiratory infection before our move. Father is half pitbull and half collie-like dog or black Lab, or both. Puppies are: 5 brown with black noses, 1 mostly white, black spot on his eye, 1 mostly white but looks like pepper all over her, 1 almost all black, 1 mostly black with some white and brown, 1 mostly black but some white.
