A financial data provider is creating what amounts to Bloomberg 2.0: a new, groundbreaking suite of pricing, risk-analysis, and market-making applications designed for top traders in the credit and fixed income markets. This product set offers instantaneous access to real-time market data and risk assessments for esoteric OTC products that would otherwise be almost impossible to price and trade effectively. As the most important link between strategy and execution, the company's software is in demand at top funds throughout the industry.

The product offering has two components. The first is a classic pricing, volume, and risk system: it offers instantaneous access to up-to-date quotes on obscure credit derivatives and other similar products. The second feature is a set of credit derivative indices, which will allow investors to benchmark performance and measure market moves.

The credit market data unit is a subsidiary of a major financial exchange. The unit's cofounders have a long record of success in the financial field. One of them ran a trading desk before joining a hedge fund to create credit derivative strategies -- he teamed up with another executive who had previously built a commercial paper trading platform that revolutionized the market and was sold to a top financial services firm. Currently, the market data portion of the company has over fifty employees, is growing over 20% per quarter, and has achieved profitability.

They need an experienced VBA developer, who can work closely with clients during the sales process to help integrate market data with their existing systems, and can also assist the development and implementation teams in designing and marketing new features. This would involve discussing needs and policies with customers, working with the sales team to effectively explain the system to new users, and informing the development team of new trends in the market. This is essentially an internal consulting role that will turn customer feedback into new features, and use these new features to win more customers.

Required:

Interest in financial markets, particularly fixed income and credit.

Great Excel/VBA skills.

TSQL and SQL.

Windows XP.

Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel addins and macros.

Bachelor's degree.

Willingness to travel throughout US and Europe.

Desired:

Windows server 2003/2000.

Knowledge of credit derivatives market data sources.

SQL Server 2000, 2005.

Windows Services, Windows Registry, Event Viewer.

Remote support; VPN.

Exchange and Lotus Notes.

For more IT/Quantitative Finance positions, visit headhunting.com.
