Military moms have unique needs with deployments, frequent moves and lack family support in the area. A Military MOPS group is designed to meet the needs of military moms. Who? MOPS is open to all mothers with at least a child between the ages of 0 and 6 years old. When? We meet twice a month (1st and 3rd Monday of the month) to learn, encourage, grow and support each other as we travel this journey of motherhood! What about my children? Age, Race, or Sex doesn't mattter, I just need some help getting motivated and staying that way. The best way I have found to motivate myself is to help others. I was successful at losing 90lbs. a couple of years ago but I got injured and was unable to do much cardio and things like that. I started to gain the weight back after keeping it off for over a year. I am pretty much disgusted with myself over the whole thing because I swore I would never let myself get over 200lbs again and now here I am at 216.5 pounds and gaining more weight by the day. Some of the things I would like for the group to do are: - Witness in different locations (SAMM's Shelter, downtown, etc) - Pray at hospitals - Pray in front of schools, abortion clinics, and other places in need - General service in the community (Habitats for Humanity, volunteering at the Children's Shelter, etc) - Perform skits - Perform interpretive worship/praise dance - Distribute fliers containing God's Word - Praise and Worship - Other related activities. I attend a small church that does not have the resources to start this kind of thing. You do not have to attend my church to participate. I am looking for people who believe in God, that Jesus is God's Son conceived by the Holy Spirit and the only means to salvation, in the Holy Spirit, the laying of hands, and speaking in tongues. I am looking for people who have the desire to do God's work and submit to His Will. You must be willing to take the criticism that comes with being a follower of Christ and have the courage to witness to strangers or perform dramas (even on street corners).
