Industrial Sewing Space/Collective-San Francisco
Excellent for workshops, costuming and fashion design!
Open to other creative uses!

Okay, I have one crack at this so I hafta make it
good.

This space is gorgeous, a reconverted barn, lots of
light, hardwood floors, a short walk through a grassy
field to the bay. We are surrounded by a wooden deck,
plants galore, a lovely vegetable patch, and chickens!
This is in San Francisco.

I had a little chat with the landlord and he's ready
to hand me the keys if I can get it together asap.
Alas this is absolutely NOT live/work.
Rent is $1900. Bills will run us around $300 for an
industrial space. It's based upon square footage. With
that we get DSL, water, electricity and garbage. There
is a bathroom and an industrial sink as well.
Electrical outlets galore. You will never ever want
for a place to plug in.

I'd like to rent it out to five people/parcels. If
there is a partner involved and the cost for the
parcel is split that's fine as well.

Very high ceilings! We can't build lofts per se but
"pallet shelving" is allowed. It just can't look like
another level. Has to look like shelves. No permanent
stairs. Ladder only.

Rent would be $340 a month with a deposit of $510.
Bills are about $50 a month.
I'm aiming to get in there on the 1st of June.

I could up this to more people but then I think it
gets a bit crowded/hairy and difficult to manage, but
I am open to proposals.

Costs could be held down or covered if we rent the
space for use as a workshop space or for an occasional
photoshoot or low key event.
We're artists we can think creatively!

Full disclosure: I am trying to run and manage the
space so that my own costs are covered, but I am not
attempting to gouge or make a profit off the
subletters. I would even like to manage it in such a
way that all of us cover some of our costs.

I believe in laying things out in writing, with very
well defined boundaries and rules. I've tried anarchy. It
doesn't work.

I believe in full disclosure, so everything will be
spelled out and there will be dialogue about all
decisions.Ultimately though, I am the one responsible
to the landlord, so when push comes to shove I will be
making the final call.

Dogs are welcome. No smoking. Absolutely NO live/work.

Eventually
I would like to get in some shared industrial
machines. There is plenty of street parking but we are
only allowed one parking place by the barn. Landlord
was very adamant about that. Load in/out is the
exception.

Okey doke.
Let me know if you have any questions.

I can be reached at linda@cyclecide.com
If there is enough interest I will be arranging a tour
of the space.

XO,
Linda

Don't worry about what it's called, work on being believable, interesting, and exciting to watch!" - C.A.

This class is necessary to evolve as an actor and strengthen your performing skills. We help you select and develop suitable monologues for presentation to agents and theatrical auditions.
Also, actors will perform contemporary and classical scenes with partners. All geared to raise your acting ability above the norm. Charles knows how to get actors over the top quickly, helping to find that key element, turning average performances into paid performances.
Included in the many things taught in this class are, line by line script analyses, arcs/beats, internalization, characterization, believability, blocking, creating your environment, and drawing your audience in.

**Private Lessons Are Available**

On-Camera Class

"It is vital for an actor to understand the difference between stage and camera work especially in the audition process!" - C.A.

In this class we tape our students, play them back on television and critique their performance. It is important for the actor to see how they present themselves on screen.
Actors must also understand the major differences between stage and film work, and the art of acting and the audition process. Only after mastering on-camera and scene-monologue work can actors appreciate how both forms integrate. Students work alone, in pairs and in groups doing scenes and mimicking real auditions preparing them to land those jobs!
The many things studied in this class include cold readings, commercial work, improvisation, auditioning techniques, script analyses and slating. We also teach the complete business application including headshots, resumes, portfolios, agents, casting directors, self-promotion, unions, the audition process, principles, featured extras, and extras.

**Private Lessons Are Available**

Charles Ascello SAG/AFTRA
Located in the San Francisco Bay Area:
Châs School of Film & Television
131 Industrial Way #15
BELMONT, CA 94002

She probably did hundreds of these meetings with affiliates each year, so there was surely nothing memorable about the occasion for her. But it was for me. She had an undeniable presence that made it clear to everyone (except Star Jones, apparently) that Barbara was a force to reckoned with. And she was the consummate professional: I remember how she sat down to do a taping and the director asked her to shave 0.2 seconds off an audio track. She did it in one take. Still, what made the biggest impression on me that day was her appearance. Turns out she's got remarkably beautiful legs - the type you'd find on a fashion model. You can see for yourself and get her to sign her dishy memoir AUDITION, which is setting book sales records.
Fri., May 16, 1:00 p.m.
Book Passage, 51 Tamal Vista Blvd., Corte Madera. 415-927-0960.
Ticket to signing with purchase of book at store.
Also Appearing
Friday, May 16, 6 p.m.
Rakestraw Books, 409 Railroad Avenue, Danville.
