Provide consultation and primary support for Account Managers and key clients in day-to-day project decision making.

Create clear, detailed work orders and communication with production. Preflight files and review incoming information when needed. Contact client for missing information.

Coordinate projects going to outside vendors.

Communicate with PM’s, client and production staff to clear any questions and assist in re-prioritizing when needed. Communicate any changes to a project to the PM and production staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES:<br><br>
• Identify & assign images to categories which most closely match the subject of the image (e.g., putting “The Dog” in the Dachshund and Picasso categories)<br><br>
• Conduct research when necessary (names of artists, movements, eras, etc.)<br><br>
• Maintain a coherent view of each category by understanding the category’s focus and removing dissimilar products<br><br>
• Identify and flag images that do not meet our quality standards (poor resolution, shadows, wrong image, etc.)<br><br>

JR. GRAPHIC DESIGNER<br><br><br>
Reporting to the Senior Designer and Art Director, the Junior Graphic Designer will support, track, and deliver high-quality creative assets for multiple internal business clients over multiple brands. As the Assistant Merchant for Framed Art, you will be responsible for developing Framed Art to be featured on our web sites and in our catalog.<br><br>
Key responsibilities include designing Framed Artwork through selecting the best moulding and mat board combination for the piece, determining the retail price, and uploading the new products to our web site. You would also be responsible for managing the creation of Framed Art samples for our catalog photo shoots and participating in the selection of the moulding and mat board assortment.<br><br>

SUMMARY
<br>
This is a rare opportunity in our New Media and Exhibit Human Computer Interaction (HCI) department for a microcontroller & electronics savvy tangible media / physical computing guru, to have an unusual degree of creative and technical freedom, in a unique, fun, non-commercial R&D environment. Collaborate with leaders in their fields--internally and externally--on first-hand experiences that meld science, art and human perception to stimulate kids, teens, and adults to learn through inquiry and serious play. You will create, iterate, and maintain interactives that interpret data from sensors, make things move or react in the physical world, drive sound and video, or talk to other software and devices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Generate cool exhibit/interaction ideas, and create prototypes.

· Collaborate on projects generated by others.

· Understand, maintain, and iterate/improve legacy interactive exhibits.

· Create prototypes to communicate your and other team member's concepts.

· Try prototypes on the museum floor with visitors, early and often, assisted by top, in-house visitor research professionals.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s Degree in interactive multimedia, user interface design, HCI, or related field. Advanced degree in new media, HCI, or related discipline a plus.

· Two years of recent experience developing robust interactives

· Basic electronic circuit design, breadboarding and testing (oscilloscope, DVM/DMM).
<br>
· Microcontroller programming expertise.
<br>
· Familiarity with sensors (proximity, flex, pressure, capacitive, etc.), actuators (servo/steper motors, solenoids, etc.), and physical/wireless interfaces.
<br>
· Familiarity with one of: Flash/ActionScript (strong plus), Max/MSP/Jitter, or Director Lingo.
<br>
· C++, C# or Java competence, particularly with non-keyboard/mouse input/output (i.e. sensors, effectors/actuators, video cameras and projection devices).

· Comfortable using various museum machine shop tools & equip, if/where applicable
<br>
· Proficiency working in a mixed-platform environment with both older and current Macintosh and Windows OS releases; connecting, swapping, and troubleshooting a wide variety of peripheral devices.

· Basic wired/wireless Ethernet configuration, and connection troubleshooting.
<br>
· Demonstrated knowledge and instinct for good usability.

· Ability to work harmoniously as part of a multidisciplinary exhibit development team.
