Monitors and troubleshoots system performance on a variety of networked systems. He/she will provide technical assistance to employees on computer hardware, software, network, and intranet authoring (including general user support). He/she will also implement and administer hardware and software changes and upgrades. The ability to design and implement routine microcomputer systems, and to analyze and define user requirements, and write supporting documentation is also required. Requirements This position requires BS/MS degree and 5 or more years of related experience in a computer network environment. Knowledge of Windows, UNIX, Linux operating systems concepts and facilities. Web authoring tools and familiarity with Oracle, MYSQL, and MS SQL database systems. Experienced with MS Office suite and SharePoint. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to perform well in a team environment are required. Experience working with biotech specific software vendors such as: MDL, Spotfire, and Scitegic is highly desired. Individual must be comfortable programming in a variety of computer languages and must understand 3-tier architecture. Also must be comfortable with common system administration tasks and networking Proven ability to communicate with a diversity of personalities and successful customer service orientation and experience are required.
