<![CDATA[Dear RE, You do realize that the Irish language as it is termed, is actually Gaelic or in the Irish language: Gaeilge. It is taught and used in certain regions of Ireland for the obvious reason...it's the language of the people. It is no where near similar to English which is also used in much of Ireland. Did you know that they speak English in Germany, France, Spain and various other countries, and even throughout the continent of Africa...it's a quite popular, if not patriarchal, language. However, they do have a language all their own. Ireland is NOT England. As for the Irish (Gaelic) student, you are going to be hard pressed to find someone fluent in the US, but good luck and happy learning.]]>

They may use some words that are holdovers from whatever language they spoke before the "American English" language took over as a main dialect, but that doesnt mean its a completely different language than the one you already speak.]]>
