<![CDATA[(802-4250) Chester, the Hound boy! This handsome Hound came in with another smaller version of himself. It's so sad to see the 2 sit behind the dark bars of our Animal Control facility. I assume that the other Hound is his sister, as he seems to watch out for her. Chester is completely sweet and loving, and looks very confused about his current surroundings. He has a nice red coat and shiny eyes. He appreciates the petting given in the picture below. He is still a young boy, estimated around 1 year old. I wonder where he and his sister came from. <![CDATA[802-4251) Betsey, the Hound girl! This little girl came in with what appears to be her bigger brother. She is a heartbreaker for sure. Just look at the pictures and you know exactly what I mean. She is extremely submissive, which always bothers me a little, as it often appears that someone beat them into submission. This little girl is scared. She wants to be loved so badly but she seems to always worry that she gets hit instead of petted. She has the beginnings of Demodex around her right eye and on her thigh that need to be treated. It really breaks my heart to see animals in such a state. <![CDATA[806-426) Snowie, the Yellow Lab mix! This little girl came in while I was taking pictures. A woman said she found her in her neighborhood and would not be able to keep her. Snowie is still a puppy, probably around 9 months old, and appears to be mixed with Yellow Lab. She is very, very frightened, and will need someone with a kind heart and patience. If you can offer this to her, she will make a wonderful K9 friend. Snowie is very beautiful with a coat that's almost white. She will have some growing to do, but right now she is medium in size. <![CDATA[806-423) Suzie, the Terrier mix and (806-424) Peppy, the Terrier mix! This little boy and girl were one out of three pairs of dogs picked up together. Suzie and Peppy are like peas in a pod. They are both full of energy, love people and other dogs and are desperate to know what TLC is all about. They may hop around like crazy to get your attention, but you pick them up to hold them and all of that changes. Suddenly they become still and it's as if you see the anticipation in their eyes. "Am I going to be held like this for a while? That would be great, because I never had that before, and it sure does feel nice." It's sad to think how some dogs are starved for the slightest bit of love when our own fur babies get so much at home. Suzie is smaller than Peppy. Peppy is emaciated and really needs to get some good chow in him to fatten him up a little. Right not you can literally count each one of his ribs. I hope that they can be adopted out together, but they are very young, about 5 months old, so it is not necessary. They would be happy just having a loving family. <![CDATA[805-018) Lucky, the Boxer/Mastiff mix! My heart skips a beat when I think of Lucky. He is unbelievable and I know that anyone who would meet this boy would want to take him home. Lucky received his name from Animal Control staff, as he was hit by a car but made it without serious injuries. His leg was hurt and bandaged up by the kennel tech, but it appears to have only sustained some cuts and bruises. He walks on the leg, but it is sore and hurts him still. Lucky is a PUPPY of about 5 months and will grow into a very large dog. His coat is soft, soft, soft and has a lot of loose skin for him to grow into. His paws are the size of saucers to hold a small giant. Lucky is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever encountered. He is completely non aggressive and craves physical contact. You can hug him and he won't move; he just leans into you as close as he can. His beautiful eyes are sage green and his handsome coat is rusty red. I have been working on puppy pad training however he will still need someone with patience and time to commit to him. She had a lot of fun running in the yard with the other dogs, and boy can she run. She definitely has that Whippet trait in her. She also has her nose to the ground a lot like any good Hound dog. J She has a long, narrow face and snout and is a very clean looking dog. She enjoys getting petted and walks nicely on a leash, too. She howled when I put her back in her cell, and it tugged at my heart even after I left Animal Control. Hannah was definitely someone's pet and they took great care of her. I don't know what happened that made her end up at Animal Control. What I know is that she now needs another family to take her in before it's too late. <![CDATA[802-4247) Daisy, the Pointer mix! This little girl is absolutely amazing. She has truly captured my heart, and I have thought about her ever since I left animal control. Her name is Daisy and she is an approximately 1 ½ year old Pointer mix. Daisy helped me temperament test all the other dogs and enjoyed herself so much it was a sight to see. She ran and jumped and played it was a delight to watch. She is gentle with the smaller dogs and rough houses with the larger dogs, but when I call her she comes running and is so well behaved. She soaks up the loving I had for her. My heart was so full of love for her, I couldn't help myself, I just had to give her a smooch. When I did, I noticed that she doesn't lick. She let me kiss her several times and remained very still. I guess she knew that she was a special pup to me. I am very worried about her, and pray that a family is out there who is looking for someone just like Daisy. By the way, she is more medium in size than large PLEASE SAVE HER! They are in the same large cage and everything goes together. They are roughly 6 months old. One is a female White Faced Cockatiel & her name is Monet. The other is male Lutino Cockatiel & his name is Picasso. They are very social and love all the attention you can spare. They both have learned to do the "cat call" whistle and they are experimenting with many other sounds as well. Parting with them is not the ideal solution for me however I have developed and allergy to them and it would be unfair to them to just shut them up in the other room. There will be a $150 re-homing fee to the new family. The cage & accessories alone cost more than $150 I just want to make sure they stay together. ]]>

<![CDATA[Pit Bull needs a new home. Her name is Diamond she is 3 years old. Her color is white with tan markings. She is micro chipped and current on all shots as well as rabies. She is very loving and sweet. Gets along with kids and other dogs. Even cats!! She doesnt like to be left alone she has seperation anxiety. The vets suggested we get her a friend to hang out with but we arent willing to go that route so we thought maybe someone would be willing to give her a home that can give her alot of attention or with another dog in it. <![CDATA[I have a small pit mix named Darla, shes the sweetest dog ever but I dont have the time to train her and give her the attention she needs. Shes GREAT with children and other animals, (birds cats and other dogs)She has a great personality and has tons of energy. She was born on mothers day so shell be 5 months old on the 11th. She knows all the basic commands but still sometimes has accidents in the house. I prefer she goes to a home with either children other pets or both. She MUST have a yard to run around in.. right now she has the run of the mill on half an acre. She has her shots but definetly needs flea prevention. Thats one thing we havent has the money to get. I will give you all her shot records but you must take her to the vet soon as shes due for another check up. You will get the rest of her food as well as her bowls, toys, and blanket. I also have treats to go with her as well, and her leash and colar, pretty much everything she needs. Her crate is the only thing I cant let go of. Weve learned to love this dog a bunch but she deserves a home where she will get the attention she needs. My husband just doesnt have the time and its not fair to her. I do have pictures of her if you are interested or we can set up a time for you to meet her. <![CDATA[We just adopted sweet Lola about 3 months ago. Come to find out our baby is pretty allergic to her. Unfortunately, we need to give Lola to a new home. She is potty trained. She will stand by the door and let you know it is time to go. She is very sweet and loves to cuddle and play. She is still a puppy (about 7mths old) so can be energetic at times. She is WONDERFUL with kids and thinks that the cats are cool too even though they don't see each other much. I do NOT know what kind of breed she is. I believe her to be some sort of terrier mix. She weighs 22lbs and is medium sized. I really don't think she is going to get much bigger. We are asking a small rehoming fee of $50 to help pay for her shots and spaying that we just had done. I also have a HUGE crate that I am willing to sell for $45 to go with her. I'm a SCAD student and am having trouble keeping my dogs housed back in my hometown (Chicago). My parents would like to travel and therefore cannot continue to watch them for me. They've been with me for 8 years and one is exceptionally well trained (titles in obedience and agility, also a therapy dog), I couldn't bear to find them other homes. I'm locked into my housing contract thru school, so moving off-campus isn't possible right now. I'd like to bring my dogs back with me and have them in Savannah during the school year, and am just looking for a securely fenced yard to keep them in. I would provide all care (food, shelter, vetting etc) and daily attention, including walks and socialization. the dogs would not require any effort on your part. I would be more than happy to maintain the area they are kept in for compensation, including mowing/painting/physical labor to improve the property. This arrangement would be ideal if someone has a spare undeveloped lot or a fenced storage lot/junkyard. One of the dogs (a german shepherd) will protect his territory, the other is much more passive. You would still have the security of a guard dog on the property. His back legs do turn in some but it doesn't affect his riding. He wouldn't make a good Jumping horse b/c of his legs though.
