Position Description:

The Excess Loss Supervisor is primarily responsible for supervision of the Stop Loss Coordinator, and to direct the day to day operations of funding for members who have claims in stoploss or a potential claim that may qualify for stoploss. This position will be the primary liaison between HMA and the reinsurance carriers on claims payment issues, and will work to ensure that strong relationships are developed and claims are funded correctly and as quickly as possible. The Excess Loss Supervisor position requires daily use of judgment and sophisticated problem solving skills. This position is responsible for communications with the client and works closely with the client, making sure to understand their needs, when determining how best to fund for stoploss claims. This position also assists in coordinating new group set up with the reinsurance carriers, directing the reporting for renewing groups, and providing feedback as to overall carrier trending (e.g. carrier TAT).
