We are a healthy family and require the same in the person caring for our kids. The position will be from the middle of June until the end of August when school starts back up. The hours needed are Monday through Friday from 9am until 3-5pm, approximately 30-35 hours per week. We will be paying a weekly salary, not an hourly rate. $200-$300 per week DOE. We are open to a high school student, a professional nanny or someone in between. It would be a plus if you could drive and enable the kids to attend swimming lessons this summer here on the island, but it's not necessary. People always say that they have a feeling they can trust me! When I take new children into my daycare I always have a first-time trial period so they can get to know me..... 2 hours or so. This is not a good decision for your little one. She is 11mons and is very happy and playful; she does get around very fast, on the verge of walking without holding on to things, and is eating baby food and solid foods. I am a 35 year old former attorney originally from California. I recently moved to Seattle after an epiphany of sorts and I am in the process of applying to get into one of 2 accelerated masters degree programs in nursing where I will come out as a nurse practitioner. The program does not start until next summer (2009), so I would really love to find a great nanny position to last me until next summer. I have been caring for children since the age of nine. I am comfortable with children of all ages. I have experience with newborns right out of the hospital as well as all ages up through the teens. I have always felt very comfortable around children and am looking forward to finding the right family. In addition to the babysitting services I am willing to offer light housekeeping, I also love to cook and would be happy to prepare meals for the children during the day and for the family in the evening. And, believe it or not, I really enjoy cleaning and shopping as well, so I wouldn't mind having to do some shopping for evening dinners. Super type-A personality. So, I would definitely be willing to negotiate some light to medium house cleaning. By the way, and this is important, I live in Capital Hill and will be taking pre-reqs at Bellevue Community College. So wherever I end up nannying must be convenient to one or both of those places. I recently moved to WA from CA, where my neighbors and I would "NannyShare" -- that is, we would split the cost of a Nanny to watch all of our children together. This works best if there are no more than 4 kids total (your two plus my two) and they are of similar ages (the same gender works even better -- four girls between 5 and 7.) This turns out to be cheaper for us, because it is not tons more work to add on an extra kid when you are already watching two or three, especially if they are all of similar ages. My girls love this set-up because they get to spend the entire day playing with friends! The Nanny loved this set up because the girls were so well-behaved the job was a piece of cake! <![CDATA[Hi All, I'm a SAHM to a very active and happy 3 year old son. I have been babysitting full time for over a year for a family, who due to a new job, will no longer need me. We are all VERY sad to see this recent change, but that does mean that beginning in June I will be available. They've posted a reference for me, check out the title, "great reference for excellent nanny" in Mill Creek, that's me! :) My husband and I have been together for about 9 years now and have our one wonderful child. I'm just a little biased. :) We do not plan on having any more children, so I would not need any time off for maternity leave. In addition to our son, we have a very friendly small dog and a cute little rabbit. Both animals are great with kids but if you're allergic, this probably might not be the right place for you. We value family time and like to spend our free time going to the park, fishing, playing playdoh, searching for worms, visiting the zoo, outside in the sandbox, coloring, watching Disney movies, picking dandelions, reading stories, riding bikes and more. As a couple, my husband and I believe in time out rather then hitting or spanking, no yelling, limited tv time, lots of fun activities to keep our son learning, a healthy diet, a good routine and stable/loving environment. I would say our thoughts on parenting most closely follow that of attachment parenting but we don't "follow" any one method. We do what feels right for our family and what is best for our son. Our home reflects our beliefs. I live very close to Mill Creek, Bothell and South Everett off 164th ST in Lynnwood and care is provided out of my home. We live in a safe, family friendly neighborhood with plenty of room to ride bikes and play outside. I like to keep my home clean and as neat as possible with a 3 year old running around. I have an entire extra bedroom available for napping with a bed for older kids and a pack n play for younger ones. We have lots of fun toys inside as well as outside and my son and I like to take daily walks around the neighborhood just for fun. I have experience with children of all ages and have worked as a babysitter, church nursery attendant, day camp leader, junior lifeguard and Northshore School District employee in addition to my "corporate" career before becoming a mommy. Beginning in June, I will be available for full or part time care. I'm very flexible on hours too. Please note, I do consider myself more of a babysitter who's just trying to provide a warm/loving environment rather then a professional nanny and I'm not a daycare center. As such, I can afford to charge less and can be much more flexible then a nanny or center. I'm reliable and honest, but above all...I really love kids.
