<![CDATA[ What if all of the major employers in the United States would: 1.) Use their personnel records to divide their employees into geographical areas and then 2.) Promote the idea of car-pooling to and from work? Each employee could get a reply form asking if he or she were interested. Those who responded would be put in touch with other interested co-workers in their geographical residential areas. Think of the gas this would save! And think of the money it would save. With less local demand GAS PRICES WOULD COME DOWN. Once these car pools were organized they could be used for other "pooling" purposes - such as weekly shopping trips. What do you think? Any ideas? How would YOU promote this idea among employees? Which would be the logical national organization to promote car pools throughout the United States - a major political party? I have to stop in Clayton for approx. 2 hours, so if you need a ride and don't mind waiting, there is a Starbucks. I drive between Raleigh and Wilmington frequently. <![CDATA[I am working with a bus company out of Wilmington that will shuttle children in the a.m. to Roger Bacon starting the first session of the 2008-09 school year. I live in Bolivia and work in Southport and have been looking for an option that was reliable. This company has several licensed/insured drivers so sick children/late parents aren't an issue. Right now I am working up a list of interested people. The smallest shuttle van holds 15 passengers - but from feedback so far, we will need their 24 passenger bus. The Greyhounds will not make the turn at school, so space is limited. Estimated cost is $25./per person/per week. Please email me for additional space or information. First come/first serve.
