Transmission Meditation is a group service activity which 'steps down' the great spiritual energies that continually stream into our planet. This transmission process, which makes the energies more useful to humanity, is similar to that of electrical transformers, which step down the power between generators and ordinary household outlets. There are more than 600 Transmission groups in 40 countries worldwide meeting on a regular basis. I have a very empty summer and I'd like to use my time to help people in any way I can. I live near Halyburton Park and would especially like something that allows me to walk or ride my bike to reach it. I am good with animals and skilled with computers and typing. I cannot do anything that requires me to be accompanied by my parents as they are working, nor will I volunteer for preaching or spreading religions. My parents will have the final say in whether or not I participate. Please email me with the anonymous craigslist email or call 910-792-9795 if you have something I can do.

Adopt an Angel is outside Petco every Saturday and Sunday from 10:30-5ish doing dog and cat adoptions. It's a rescue organization that gets animals that are next in line to be put to sleep for lack of space and saves them, vets them and rehomes them.
-Spend the afternoon outdoors (shaded area)
-Play with and walk dogs
-Learn a little about the personalities of the animals to explain to people who are interested in adopting
-Morning people would help set up
-Closing people would help clean up and close up. Usually takes no more than 15 minutes both ways
-Take a lunch break whenever you want
-Help a good cause

The only problem is that this rescue relies strictly on volunteers so if there aren't people out there to help, than they can't hold the adoption fair and that's even longer some animals will go without homes and even more animals that will have to be put to sleep.

If you're interested, you can contact Adopt an Angel (adoptanangel.net) through their email address: adopt@adoptanangel.net
or call at 910-392-0557. The girls that arrange the volunteer schedules will need your name and contact information.
Thanks!
Mandy
