Where Americans are moving

Every year the IRS tracks how many people move from one county to another, using the addresses on tax returns. Here is what the latest year (2022 to 2023) shows for the counties that contain the cities we cover: who is gaining people, who is losing them, and the biggest long-distance moves.

The biggest long-distance moves

Moves of more than 150 miles between the counties of cities we cover. Thicker lines mean more people.
